question about no expiration option

What happens if I buy a "no expiration" option on a ticket for my 6 year old son but then we don't return until he is over 10 (and would normally require an adult ticket). Is the child ticket still good?

Also - am I right that only the person who the ticket is purchased for can use it in the future? The ticket has a fingerprint or something on it? So if I purchase my ticket with no expiration my daughter could not use it at a later date with her grandmother?

You are right that you should not transfer tickets... they are non transferable and it is against Disney policy. I believe you have to sign the back of the tickets and the adult tickets have the biometric finger scans and childrens do not. It would not work to have a child use an adult ticket... if it didnt work they can confiscate the ticket so it really isnt worth it to try in my opinion.

I believe at guest services they can exchange your sons ticket should he go into the adult category at no extra charge but there are some rules about it. I have never done it so I am not 100% clear on it but I believe you can.

If your son used the non-expiring ticket prior to age 10, he may (and is the only person who may) use the rest of the ticket's contents any time in his life. As an adult he may exchange the partly used ticket at no charge for an adult ticket which will have the same remaining admissions and attributes.

Child tickets do not involve the biometric reader and have no personal information (finger dimensions in the case of the finger scanner). But the person using it is subject to questioning and prior usage must make sense with his age.
