Here is the deal... We are doing a 7 night land / sea package. My son will be turning 3 while at Disney. Since he starts the package at 2, his tickets are already free and we have multi-day tickets for us and him. The new birthday celebration says:

If you have a multi-day ticket or are a Seasonal/Annual Passholder, you can choose from the following options:

A One Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket which can be used anytime before your next birthday
A special "Birthday FastPass" for the celebrant and up to 5 members in his/her party - NOTE: These are limited and may not be available after 11:00am
A Birthday Fun Card (see below) equal in price to a One Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket that can be used on your birthday for merchandise, activites and activities. (Adults receive the equivalent of an adult ticket, kids age 3 -9 get the equivalent of a child's ticket)

Do you really think we can get a fun card for him on his 3rd birthday even though his multi-day was already free? He would have SO much fun spending the $60+ at the stores for souvenirs!

I m not sure.. I am leaning towards no since you wont have a ticket for him but not 100% sure.

Here is from the FAQ's
Q: I can't come on my birthday. Can I use the free admission on your birthday ticket on another day?

A: Unfortunately, no. The free admission on your birthday ticket means just what it says. It's only good for free admission on the Ticket Holder's birthday.

Q: What ages are covered in this offer?

A: This offer is good for anyone over age 3.

Q: Why are children under 3 excluded from this offer?

A: Children under 3 are not required to have an admission ticket to enter the Theme Parks.

Where did you get this quote to paste into the thread? I'd like to see the "see below" portion.

So -- if your son is booked for the vaca at aget 2, do they adjust the price of your vacation for after he turns 3-- or is the entire thing set at him being age 2? If they didn't adjust the price, then you're already saving way more than what they're offering you. If they did, I'd go for the $60 thing. He'll be on cloud 9 getting to purchase his own stuff.

I'm not sure about the OP's question, but... they would not change the price mid-trip because a child turns 3. For pricing purposes, Disney takes the age the child is on the first day of the trip and considers them that age for the duration of the trip -- even if they have their birthday during the trip. So a 2 year old would be free for the entire trip, even if he turned 3 on the second day of the trip.

I would guess that it is for this reason that the child will not be given a merchandise certificate.

A two year old can eat free at the buffets or family style meals, is not charged for when staying at a resort, and doesn't pay admission for the length of their vacation. As a result I doubt that they will be offered any of the birthday incentives - other than they will get a birthday button.

This is hust a guess, I am interested to hear the official word from Disney.
