Has anyone been on the Magic when a new Disney feature was released that week? We will be on the Oct. 5 cruise, and Tuck Everlasting is starting on Friday Oct. 11. My daughter really wants to see this one ASAP, any chance it will be shown on the ship on Friday? Diana

We were hoping to catch "Signs" on the Magic's Aug 3 Western. Signs opened on the 2nd, but did not play on our cruise. It is showing now though on the Magic.:(

We were on the Magic in Oct. of 2000 when they released Remember The Titans. They showed it in the Walt Disney Theatre on Tuesday night. I believe it premiered on land the following Friday.

If there's a Disney relase during or just before your trip, I think there's a good chance they'll show it in the main theatre, at least on the 7-day.

We saw Monsters, Inc. and Atlantis for the first time on board, but I don't think they were actually premieres, as they had been released on land before we sailed.

I believe that the general rule of thumb is that new movies debut onboard the week *after* they are released. So, for example, if something comes out on a Friday it will first show on the Magic on the following Saturday's cruise and on the Wonder on the following Sunday's cruise.

Having worked in a movie theater for many years I know that films do not usually show up until the night before they open. I believe that is why they don't show up onboard until after they open in regular theaters. If a movie opens on Friday it would have to make it to the Magic the Friday before in order to be shown on that cruise. It may be possible with the Wonder, which sails on Thursdays, but I would bet it doesn't happen often, if at all.

We were sailing on the wonder when Monsters Inc. was released. They premiered it on the same night it was premiering in regular theaters. The cruise director told us that we were special because the magic was not premiering the movie until the following week.

We were on the Magic last week (8/17-8/24). They premiered Spy Kids 2 on Thurs. night at 8pm. It was in the Walt Disney theatre where they have the nightly shows so lots of room for people to see the movie(it was full.) :D

We were on the Magic 1/02 when Snow Dogs debuted. It was supposed to be shown on Tues. Incomplete film received, it was supposed to be shown Wed., still incomplete. Finally they got all the reels together and showed it on Friday.
