Question about my reservation?.....who is REALLY in charge of it?

Yesterday, I made a reservation to RPR for my upcoming trip in 2009. When I called, I first called the Loew's reservation number. They transferred me to the Universal resort reservation department. I made my reservation with them. They gave me a confirmation number and I gave them my CC # as a 'hold'.

Questions:
1. Does it really matter if I make the reservation through Loew's, or through the number they transferred me to (in Orlando)
2. Should I have gotten a confirmation email? If not, will I get a confirmation via mail?
3. When I go to the Loew's site and put in my confirmation number to view my reservation, the site states that it's an invalid number. Is that because I actually made my reservation through the number that they transferred me to? I mean.....are these two different entities all together?

that is what happens when i make a ressie.
you go thru loews first give them your number and they transfer you to uo ressies. i booked last october for this years/oct room. unless procedures have changed that is how i did mine and eligible for the loews first welcome gift. but, i read my emails from loewsfirst and see changes take effect july 15 this year.

call and ask for a confirmation email. i have to do that most of the time when they don't send out one within 72 hours.

call loews and ask them.

Probably not. Who you actually booked with might be determined on when full payment is required. If its required a few days in advance, you actually booked through a vacation services. If payment is to during check-in/checkout, you're booked through the hotel services.

I received mine a few days after booking a room over the phone.

When I try to display my confirmation number, I get this message: "Non-Retrievable Transaction If you need to make changes, cancel this reservation, or reconfirm, please contact reservations at 1-888-464-3551". Is this the message you see?
 
I read their were changes to the Lowe's card....but I honestly don't understand it. Could someone explain it to me?
 

macraven, I'd be willing to pay you as my personal secretary and travel agent. It would save me a lot of time from googling and reading these forums, and at least you'd be paid for your efforts. You'd be mine exclusively though, and I'd have to ask you to stop posting vacation tips here. You'd just be allowed to chat. Let me know your salary requirements and what hours you'd like to work. :lmao:

with all the posts i have on using the AAA card or AP card for a 10% discount on a soda refill and you say i'm not cheap........:laughing:
 
Ooohhhhh....no one knows what the changes will be until July 15th? Does that mean it will be good news?...or bad news......because I heard that it won't be as good as the stuff we get now (which I have no idea how good it really is because I haven't used my Loew's card yet)....he he

Yes...you'd be an awesome travel agent. Not only do you know the tips...you know all the 'official' stuff as well.

Sometimes the Loews website works for giving you your information with your confirmation number even though you made your reservations over the phone, and sometimes it doesn't. It seems to be hit and miss.

Make sure you do as Mac said and call to get a confirmation email. It is nice to have just in case there are any problems with your reservation.
 
Update: I called to confirm my reservation since the Loew's 'view your reservation' part of the website wasn't working. I asked them about a confirmation email and they stated that I should get one in 72 hours. I told them it was past that, and they said...."Oh, it's probably because your reservation is in 2009. They'll do the reservations that are sooner than yours before they do yours"

....doesn't make sense to me.

But, at least when I called to ck on the reservation, everything was okay.
