Question about multiple contracts and booking

Hey all!

We're relatively new owners, and know that we'll buy resale in the future. My husband asked a question last night and I had no idea, but knew you guys would probably have an answer.

Right now our home resort is Aulani. Let's say we bought resale BCV, so we had two contracts.

Then let's say we went to book at BCV using home resort advantage 11 months out, but didn't have enough points. What happens then? Do we just use the points we can and waitlist with our Aulani points, or would we be able to book the whole thing?

My guess is the former, but figured I'd check, since I really don't know all those little details yet.

You would book the days you can book at 11 months with home resort points. You can borrow home resort points ahead one use year if need be. If you don't want to borrow and don't have enough home resort points for the whole reservation, you cannot do anything until 7 months out. At that point you could use Aulani points if the days you need are available. If the days are not available then you would waitlist and use Aulani points if and when the waitlist clears.

If you cannot book a BCV reservation at 11 months out with aulani pts, you cannot waitlist either. Until you hit the 7 month mark, it is the same as if you had 2 completely separate contracts.
