Question about making reservations

I'm wanting to stay in a LM room in the end of April or beginning of May. Let's say I book our package for the beginning of May and then later on FD is offered for the end of April. Can I call and change my reservations without a penalty? I just know that the LM rooms are popular so I know that I will probably need to book ASAP and not be able to wait until the promotions are released.

Yes, you can change your dates without penalty. One thing to remember though, Disney includes resorts under it's discounts based on needing occupancy. If AoA is really popular in it's first year, Disney may not need to include it in the discounts in order to fill the resort. Just be sure to figure out which is more important to you: Staying at AoA or getting free dining. You may have to make that choice.

Yeah I just saw that the LM are excluded for the FD fixing to be offered to the GP for this Fall. If that was the case for me can you switch resorts without being penalized? This is the first trip I'm planning myself...my mom has planned our last two, so I'm just trying to make sure I know everything beforehand.

Also I'm kind of thinking about not booking right now becasue if everyone books then Disney would be less likely to release FD or any other promotion right?

Goodness all this is crazy or I'm just overthinking everything. DH doesn't really want to spend a lot of money so I'm trying to convince him that we can do Disney on a budget! Good thing we aren't flying so we can be somewhat flexible with our dates.

I am going end of sept through oct2 and getting free dining and staying at the little mermaid. I first booked at all star and when then they opened it to the new resort. Took a few times trying because they only opened a few at a time, but got lucky, i would look on the web site and check everyday,as soon as one open called and got the room. Good luck

Thanks I appreciate the info...unfortunately I'm not planning on going until April/May 2013. I was just saying that the LM rooms have been excluded for the Fall FD promo fixing to be release to the general public. If they do that now they might do that in 2013 as well.

Not sure you can expect any free dining in April-May, it's prime spring break time. It's pretty rare for it to be offered in April and I don't recall any dates in early May at all. The only shot you may have is that Easter is early in 2013 (March 31).

We got it when we went the beginning of June in 2011. I looked and saw that in March of last year FD was offered so I'm hoping that since Easter is early this year they will offer it in April or May since the Spring Breaks will be early as well.
