Question about making ADRs

So, as you may or may not know, my family are Newbies to the DVC world. We are coming up to our 180 day window and I was wondering about making ADRs. Do I have to call MS or can I go on the WDW website to make them? Sorry for the really lame question, I am just trying to get everything straightened out before I have to make all of my ADRs. We are going to be on the DxDP and are planning a lot of hard to get ADRs, I just need to know where I have to go to make them. Thanks for any help.

You can do either - call or book online.

There are some reservations you can't book online (Fantasmic dining package for example).

Be careful trying to book dinner shows or CRT online when you want to pay with the dining plan. More often than not the online system will try to charge you in full. Then you have to either call and make a new reservation or wait to get refunded.

You could call MS or go to DVCmember.com and you can make ADR on there!!! Have Fun!!

The member website links to disneyworld.com/dining for ADRs.

You can also call the main dining line at 407-WDW-DINE. The main dining line opens at 7am where MS opens at 9am (all times are Eastern).

Thank you all so much for your quick replys. This is why I love the DIS . So then from what everyone is saying, it is no different than making ADRs for a cash reservation at a resort. For some reason, I thought I had read that I had to call MS because we are DVC members.....I told you I was a newbie to this. Just one more question, will I be able to link up my reservation # to the online dining like I could if I was doing a normal WDW vacation? I am assuming I could, but want to double check. You don't have to call MS but you do have the option.

You can call the regular phone line, too.

One of the main reasons members would call MS to make ADRs is the toll free number. MS uses the same reservation system as the main dining line.
