Hi :wave2:

I noticed in the Magic Kingdom at WDW when we last went, there were CM's that take pictures for you in front of the castle, I just wondered if anyone knows the price of these.

Thanks :goodvibes

They put your pictures on a PhotoPass card and you can view and buy them once you get home. I bought a 5X7 for $12.95. I will say, though, that some of our pictures did not show up because the card was not scanned or something, and they will take a picture with your camera, too. Those seemed to turn out better than the ones you had to buy.

ALL of our pictures from our May trip disappeared. When we plugged in the numbers on our 2 cards, both noted that the numbers didn't exist in the computer. It was so disappointing. We will use this service again next week, but we also will be doubly sure to take duplicate photos on our own cameras.

Have you contacted them and let them know? People have had luck in having Disney locate their lost pics. It helps to know what you were wearing, where you were photographed, etc. Good luck!

We had very good luck with our shots from PhotoPass. Weren't crazy about the ones at Epcot but that was more my stupid expression than the photographer!!! My favorite shot is of my dd and I in front of the lit-up Castle at about 12:45 a.m.!!! I got a 5x7 for 12.95 and an 8x10 for a bit more. I would be sure to check them each day in the photoshops if you get a chance. That way you can be sure to have the shots you want taken.

We did not like our PhotoPass pix either. Like the previous poster stated, the pix they took with our camera actually came out better than the ones they took with their cameras.

Hi :wave2:

I just wondered if anyone knows if they charge you for taking pictures of you, using your own camera? And do you have to buy the photocards they use first?

Thanks :goodvibes

No, there is no charge for them using your camera or for the PhotoPass card. They just hand it to you, and then when you stop at others just give them your card. In theory, that is supposed to make them all show up together, but mine did not. They were very nice about using my camera, and I was not at all uncomfortable asking them. There is usually the CM and the photopass person, so you could ask either.

I was once told by a CM that if you ask them to, that the photgraphers have to take a picture of you using your camera the same as any CM in the park would if you would ask them. It is no different just because they are the photo CMs.

Funny note: A while back, we were in the MK very early for a character breakfast. I was so excited that we would get a pic with no one behind us. However, the photo CMs were not out yet, so we asked this guy walking bu who happened to be an employee of Buena Vista Construction. See...everybody is nice enough to take your picture...even the engineer! It turned out to be a great photo by the way.

Same trip: We knew about the Photopass and were so excited to take advantage of it. We carried our photopass card around and handed it to any CM with a camera. We were most excited about our EPCOT Flower and Garden pics. We held our hands out so that later they would insert Stitch or TInk or whoever was the flavor of the month. However, the inserts were never included in our shots. So we had a bunch of stupid looking shots of us holding our hands together. :rolleyes1 Pretty funny!

Where do you get the photopass cards? Do you get them with your tickets when you check in?

You get them the first time you get your photo taken by the CMs. Then you carry it with you to other parks and use the same card or they will give you a new one if you don't have the first one.
