I've read that some people have received a gift upon check in (like wine, or a cheese plate etc.). Is this for higher levels of the Loews First Program like Gold or Platinum, or would it apply to Blue?

Where would I indicate that choice on my Loews First profile on their website? I was able to enter in preferences of higher/lower floor, and newspaper but didn't see anything for a welcome gift.

I think that Gold and Platinum get a little fruit basket. There is no longer a choice.

We are gold and this past summer we got the fruit basket and a music cd.

I am blue level and we got no welcome gift but did get to use exercise room for free :thumbsup2

i was at rph this month and platinum loews.
let me add now that it is a lovely hotel and a great place to stay.

when i checked in i was informed the free welcome gift is usually some fruit.
the next day i did receive one apple, and 2 unknown types of fruit.

since it sat there for 2 days, i guess they assumed i didn't like it.

the third day i received chocolate covered stawberries........8 of them....
it was well worth the wait.

Mac, I think one of the mystery fruits was a pear....

I had an orange and two apples in mine and also didnt touch it, nor was it replaced since I dont let them in while I am there lol

Then again I am a lowly gold member so who knows if they would have cared anyway. lol

I just recently got my email saying I needed to book 10 stays by the end of december to keep my platinum status. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted! One more suite upgrade before I go back to the standard rooms!

It applies to blue as well, as long as you don't book one of the really low rates (like FL resident). Even at gold you have to book a regular rate (you don't get gift for booking a FL resident rate)

Florida resident and AP rates are qualifying rates now with the program. They changed it about 1-2 months ago.:thumbsup2

I just booked PBH yesterday with a AAA rate. I'm a gold card holder and got the automatic room upgrade from standard to deluxe(confirmed on my email ressie). The reservationist said that AAA is also a qualifying rate as well.

AAA rate has qualified for years, it's AP rate and FL res Rate that have recently been added :woohoo:
