We are having dinner at CRT our second night at WDE and I was thinking of getting my DD3 a new cinderella dress to wear (the one she plays in at home is too ratty looking.) Now, I know my other DD7 will feel slighted if she doesn't dress up for the occasion as well (Keep in mind, she doesn't play dress up at home anymore - it's not cool, but she will want to for this) so, I tried to feel her out to see how she felt and she was excited to suggest that she could wear the gown that she already has (it's a jr. bridesmaid dress - ivory with purple flowers) so, if she's cool with that then I wouldn't feel bad getting the little one a new one. BUT, I don't know if the kids wear anything other than the official DISNEY costume gowns.
Will she be out of place in a gown that is not a DISNEY PRINCESS GOWN?? Let me know.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there!

Last year we spent the Christmas holiday at Disney with our inlaws. We did Cinderella's Gala Feast at the GF 1900 Park Fare. My DD was 2 and dressed as Cinderella. My niece was 6 dressed as Jasmine. It was a bit older, and she wanted it. My older nieces 10 and 12 just wore fancy dresses like you described. It was a lot of fun, and there was actually a wedding party there!

Maybe your older DD will want to dress up once she is at the Kingdom...it will be "cool" then!

Enjoy your girls...they grow up so fast!

Kids wear all kinds of things to CRT. Your older DD will be fine in anything she wants to wear, whether it be shorts or her gown. The main thing is just that she is happy with her choice. Just a warning with your DD3. Since she has a ratty Cinderella dress at home, I'm guessing she is like my DD who wore hers every day for about a year. I got her a new Cinderella dress for her 1st WDW trip when she was 2 yrs 10 mths. We had to convince her to wear the new dress because it was "different" than her Cinderella dress (no way I was letting her wear the torn stained one). Like your DD, she wore hers for the 1st time the 2nd day of our trip (to lunch at Akershus). Then, she didn't take it off. She wore it all day that day, then day 3, then day 4, then day 5, then day 6. That dress could walk by itself by the time we left WDW. They get lots of special attention in those Princess dresses- she got hooked fast!!! The only thing that bugs me is that she is in the same dress in almost every one of our WDW pictures. We did get her to wear a Minnie dress on AK (tusker house breakfast) /MVMCP day, but that was the only day we got her to wear something else.
