Question about liquor tastings.

I know I have seen it here but can't find it . I just signed up for a whiskey tasting that my wife does not want to do. I believe her exact words were "well that's yucky". Is she allowed to come with me without having to partake. Thanks for any info.

I think it will depend. The ones we have been to have been on the Wonder in the Cadillac bar and there was not extra space available.

Typically there are only paid spots- I would ask when you get on board. They can call down to the lounge where the event is being held.
FWIW, these are always our favorite events and your wife might actually enjoy it!

We have done the mixology and wine tastings but she will not drink straight whiskey.

She'll probably go with me and if it's an issue go to Cove Café or back to the cabin and wait for me. It wouldn't be such an issue except the tasting is at 10PM and you know DCL , that's about the time the ship is empty.

Well...Not sure how well they adhere to there own rules on this. I did a whiskey tasting on the Fantasy and the gentleman giving the class insisted my wife may sit next to me , but just a little bit behind. She didnt do any tasting of course but was allowed to be near the group of tasters.

When we did a mixology in The Cadillac Lounge there was a woman sitting on her phone at the bar not participating.
Also, on one of the sofa's was a 3rd person in a group without drinks in front of her.
However, that was 2019 and we know times are different now.
Doesn't hurt to ask upon arrival.

I’ve done 2 tastings (pre-pandemic) where they let my husband keep me company even though he wasn’t participating. It probably depends on the person letting you in the venue. However with covid protocols they may be trying to keep capacity as low as possible so I would imagine they are more strict now.

We do this all the time. I do not imbibe, but my wife does. I have accompanied her to many tastings as an observer and there's been no hassel

We've done the whiskey tasting and it was at Cove Cave. I assume yours will be the same. It was not closed off to others when we had our tasting.

A cruise is a perfect time to broaden your palate. Perhaps there is a whiskey/whisky that your wife *does* like. You never know until you try it!

I sure the there will be a broad selection. Even it you don't like it, you should be able to notice the difference in flavor.

It's only a tasting. You can finish anything left over from your spouse!

The cost of your wife's attendance is that she gets to drag you to the spa or some other activity that she likes.

Oh, this is a bit good to hear! My boyfriend will be doing a whiskey tasting (I like sweet/lemonade-tasting drinks), so I'm definitely going to be sure to at least ask if I could sit near him. If not, I'll go somewhere else.

I think it doesn’t hurt to ask. On the Fantasy a couple weeks ago we had 2 tastings that had an extra “non tasting” person come with their partner.
