I'm taking my 2 oldest kids (tins age 9) to le Cellier for a nice dinner without the 5 and 3 year old. I just noticed that if there is a kids menu that they have to order off of it. For 2 dining credits I don't want my 9 years olds eating pizza out of a Mickey Head dish. They'll KILL me:scared1:

Any way - what are the chances of them being able to order off of the adult menu? and if I have to pay for it out of pocket what are the chances of having them split a 16 oz steak? Not trying to be cheap but I hate to waste money...

Have you checked out the children's menu at LC?

I know that before it became a signature restaurant they had a steak on the child's menu.
So it could still be there. Definitely check it out.

Le Cellier has steak(add $2), chicken, pasta, pizza and hot dogs on the children's menu...unless it's changed recently.

If you want to pay for them with the dining plan they will have to order off the children's menu. You can order them adult meals and pay OOP or give them your adult meals or share with them. On DDP you will only be able to order the meals listed on your key card (if you have 2 adults on the key card you will not be able to order more than 2 adult meals). If you are paying out of pocket, you can order them whatever and they can split a meal.

FYI, just got back and have a 9 year old. We ate LC and she chose the steak from the kids menu. It came with mashed potatos. We were on the DXDP so she also got a salad (she didn't like, and normally eats salad) and the chocolate "moose" for dessert. Plenty to eat and said she was "puffed" (full) when we left.

If it helps any, before we left home we forewarned DD that she had to eat from the kids menu at the resturants. I also shared the info that pizza and mac and cheese would be on every menu, BUT she COULD NOT choose those options (she'd eat mac and cheese 3 times a day if we'd let her). She had to picked one of the proteins. Usually this was chicken, steak, or fish depending on the resturant. At Ca. Grille they did substitute mac and cheese for the mashed potatoes, and they may be willing to do that at LC. Also we found out that even if it's not on the menu you can sometimes get a fruit plate in place of the salad for the app. Always ask if you want to sub./change something, the worse they can say is NO.;)

Also another hint: go to the menus and check the kids menu so you can give your darlings a heads up whats available @ each place. This helped us because our DD is an adventurous eater and doen't eat from the kids menus quite often. You can find the menu's here on the DIS boards, allears.net and WDW site (where to eat). Have fun!:goodvibes
