I tried registering on the Hojo's discussion board but haven't been approved for like 3 days or so. But I'm wondering if we will be okay to check in at the Hojo between 10 and 11 PM? I know they usually have someone at the desk to help, but we also requested a specific room. So I'm wondering if at one point they figure we might not be coming, will they give it away?
My DH called and asked, the lady didn't seem concerned about it, but it was a very quick phone call. Should I take any other steps to make sure they know we are just checking in late and not just doing a no show? Thanks!

Call the hotel and talk to the in house reservations people. They should have your room preference noted - although they can't guarantee it - and make sure you have reserved your room using a credit card. If you tell the in house people that you will be late they will note it in your ressie and you should be fine. 714-776-6120. That is the direct hotel number and they should be able to help. Oh, and the hours are 8 - 5 pm Pacific.

LOL I've checked into the HoJo at 2 am, you will be fine! LOL

I would call the day of to confirm just in case. On my last trip, we had to delay going to DLR because the pass was fogged in and we had a flat tire. We got in around 11pm. I called that afternoon to tell them we were coming, but that we were delayed. The guy at HOJO front desk who answered the call said they could hold the room for me but needed to charge the first day on my credit card otherwise no guarantee that they would hold my room request since it was just a request. I said fine because I knew were going to be there, I just wasn't sure exactly what time. We ended up getting one of the worst rooms in Bld 1, imo, (w/ only 1 sink and an obstructed view of DL due to the trees, although on the 6th floor). I called and asked to be moved as soon as I walked in the door of the room, and they said that they were all booked until the next day. So if you have a specific room # or type of room request in, I would definitely call early in the day to confirm and let them know you will be a late arrival.

Just in case you get there and it's all dark and it seems like it's closed (like at 6 in the am when we got there lol) there is a button to the right of the front office to push.

I read a post the other day about someone showing up at hojo in the early AM (5 am or so) and they thought the check in was closed because there were no/limitted lights on. They went to DDT and later back to Hojo to find there was/is a doorbelll/ring button for off hours. Someone will come out to greet you and check you in. So, just a heads up, if the check in desk looks closed, it is in fact open.

And in regards to will they give your room away,no. When you book you give a CC, if you do not show you will be charged the first night fee. Therefore, your room will not be given away until check out after the first night.

Now in regards to specific room requests. Hojo, does not quarentee rooms, therefore your specific room may not be available to you regardless of wheather you check in at noon or midnight. I agree with all the PP and call Hojo directly, speak to inhouse reservations and let them know you will be arriving late. Even more, I would program their number into your cell and phone around check in time and speak to the desk agent and let them know you are running late, but are still hoping to get room #XXX

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I know they can't "guarantee" rooms. It just seemed like we had a good chance because when we called to ask for the specific room, the person (DH called) said that the room wasn't marked for being used, so they put it in as reserved. I dunno if this was just something they did to make us feel better (probably) but I guess we will just have to see. I will call them for sure. I know we will be late, because our flight lands at the SNA at 9:20 and we will hopefully be catching the 9:45 Disneyland Express. Thanks again!

Hmmm...:scratchin That seems odd that they would tell you they were reserving a specific # room for you. In all the years I've been staying at Hojo they always have said they would note the request for what floor I would like to be on, but that room numbers and specific floors were not guaranteed. For example, I was able to put in a request for a high floor and reserve the rate for the DL facing rooms. They'll hold whatever room type you've booked. (NQQ1, NQQ2, etc.) I'm sure everything with the room type and Hojos will be fine, just not sure they will hold a specific room number for you.:)
