First time at Universal and I have a question about Kong Skull Island ride. How intense is it? I tried watching youtube videos but can't get a sense of how much it moves around. Is it as rough as Dinosaur?

It moves hardly at all. You are sitting in a bus.

Not as intense. You are just sitting on a bench, no restraints or seatbelts or anything. It’s like riding Kilimanjaro Safaris at AK.

SO EXCITED for December trip.. First time for King Kong; just missed the opening last trip!:thumbsup2

For everyone who has ridden Kong before and for those who are going to ride it........take your 3D glasses off at the end when you see Kong .......he looks a lot better without the glasses......

We were on it when it first opened. Hardly any lines I think we were on it 3 times. I don't say this about many rides but I prefer to sit near the back on this one.

And don't put them on until you are past the bats on the right at the entrance. I couldn't even tell what they were the first time when I put my glasses on when they said to.

I'm in agreement with PPs that physically, its not all that intense. But its loud and frantic - its very exciting and some may consider it to be intense because of the dramatic effect. If kids get scared on Dinosaur, I would think they'd be scared on Kong too. Unless they can discern its just a screen.

Something else worth pointing out. The best views are on the sides, not in the middle. I’d place children who may be scared as close to the middle as possible. It will offer the most obstructive view and place them farther away from the action. This will put you between them and whatever is scary, adding a level of protection. If they were on the outside of a row, either side, they would end up closest to the bad scary things.

Also, if you have young children there are some scare actors in the regular line not the Express Pass one. I knew about it when we went but wasn't sure where they were. I heard people ahead of my yelling so I knew they were coming up. I just said out loud, "young kid here who doesn't want to be scared" and nothing happened. :) I can tell you where they are located if you private message me.

Sit on the right (passenger, not driver) side of the bus for a closer look at animatronic Kong.

It's so not intense. It's a bus that jiggles a little bit, and way less than Dinosaur. Honestly aside from the queue and the Kong animatronic at the end it's barely even worth it in my opinion.
