Question About Kauai Condos

HELLO,

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME USING OUR DVC COMING UP THIS OCTOBER.. NEXT YEAR WE PLAN ON GOING TO KAUAI AND MAUI FOR 10 DAYS TOTAL.. MY QUESTIONS ARE

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I CALL AND BOOK?

I WAS LOOKING AT THE CONDOS IN KAUAI AND COULDN'T MAKE UP MY MIND ON WHICH ONE TO GO WITH. ANYBODY HAVE ANY GREAT EXPRIENCES WITH ANY CERTAIN ONES?

I AM CARRYING OVER 80 POINTS FOR THIS YEAR AND PLAN ON BORROWING FROM 2006, ABOUT 40 POINTS. IS IT GOING TO BE A PAIN DOING THAT??

SORRY, BUT I REALLY AM GOING IN BLIND ON THIS WHOLE HAWAII TRIP AND JUST LOOKING FOR SOME HELP!!!

Hi: We justed traded our points for Maui - The Sands of Kahana for November. We put in for a trade to Kauai or Maui about 8 months ago (which is kind of early) and we put in for a number of different places to increase our chances of getting a match. I researched these places on the internet - their own websites and trip advisor for reviews. Member Services were great to work with and when I added a few resorts the CM went through every resort on the 2 islands and included all beach locations. Also when we booked our airfares (through a travel agent) we booked a package with a few more days in a hotel and a rental car which makes it actually cheaper than just booking airfares! Anyway our match came through in March for November which is 8 months. It also costs less points than for a 2 bedroom unit in WDW and I figured it saved us about $1200.00 over booking with cash.
