Question about K-mart and Wal-Mart price matching?

When you say they will match the price is that for a specific item only. For instance - Circuit City had all music CD's for $10 today, if I went to K-mart and showed them that flyer would they honor all their music CD's at $10 or does it have to be a certain artist at a sale price?

My head is spinning from sorting through sale flyers! I don't think Black Friday was worth it, I take my hat off to all you power shoppers.

done this with target and walmart without a problem. i just bring flyer to whatever store and have them do it. sometimes you have to show them the all in the ad but have always gotten my way.

I did the price match thing in '99. That year I was working 2 jobs and just didn't have the time and energy to go from store to store trying to catch all the bargins. Instead I would gather all of the sales papers and head out to Toys R US. If the price at TRU was higher, I'd show them the ad from Taget, Walmart, etc. and get the item for the lower price.

Price matching is the best use of time! Target will also match. Generally you have to bring the entire ad (not a page or section from an ad), and the item has to match exactly (model number, etc). So for a generic "all CDs are $10", I would bring the ad and ask, but since it isn't for a specific item, wouldn't be too surprised if they said no. Then again, if it were a typical "top 10" CD, single disk, it just may fly. Never hurts to ask!

Usually when stores price match it is for like items. I'm not sure if you can do it with the Circuit City ad.

Just to let you all know from what I heard Target will NOT price match anymore.

I heard the same about Target, they don't match prices anymore.

Some of the stores in our area where only price matching certain stores within 'mileage' of their store. Meijers was only price matching Walmart and Kmart today, but if I had gone to another Meijers they may have price matched TRU, Target, KBtoys, etc..if they were close to their store location.

We did this at KMart today. While the whole COUNTY, or so it seemed, was at Walmart, we casually strolled through KMart (OK, it was 5 a.m., but there were still under 50 people waiting, so we strolled) - what wasn't on sale there, we price matched from other stores.

I pretty much got everything I went out for (except some HP sheets, but that's not earth-shaking) - I'm pretty happy, if exhausted! :)

Cookie--

I did the same thing! While the line to get in KB was over 200 hundred people, I also strolled into Kmart (there were four of us!)

I price matched items from Target, KB, and Toys r Us.

It does need to be the same item, same everything in the ad. I picked up a Blo Pen set thinking it was the same in the TRU ad, but it wasn't.

The Beauty and the Beast needed to be the same (platinum edition)

I thought I was the queen of bargains, but this is one thing I didn't know about. Of course, I only shop at these stores (Target, KMart - still have yet to step foot in a Walmart) during Black Friday. But its nice to know for next year. Thanks for the tip!
