Just wondering...are there more sugar-free ice cream options these days? DS is a child with diabetes (he is 10) and last time we were there he was so disappointed to only have vanilla as an option! Just curious since the low carb craze is running rampant, wondered if Disney hopped on board with more variety!
Wouldn't it be great if they had some additional candy choices, too?

Not that he eats that much of these things...but they are a nice treat on vacation.....

Thanks.

That's a great question! I'll be traveling with a diabetic on my next trip at the end of May. I'd love to know the answer too.

You might try posting this on the Disabilities Board. There are a lot of very helpful people who may be able to answer you.

I do know that the Plaza Restaurant, which is located on Main Street in Magic Kingdom, has sugar free chocolate ice cream!

www.allearsnet.com for more info. There is a whole section for low carb dieters and other special diets, as well as a section on food allergies, kosher, and celiac sprue (gluten free).

HTH!

The ice cream cart vendors may also have sugar free ice cream bars from time to time. We sometimes travel with a diabetic.

Also, AK has frozen chocolate covered bananas, but I don't think the coating is sugar free. They sure are tasty, though.

Thanks to all who responded...never thought about the chocolate frozen banana things! That wouldn't be too bad of an alternative for him...hoping to plan a trip in the next year!!!!
