Question about how to book a vacation package

We currently have a reservation made direct with WDW with the free dining plan. Is there any benefit to switching our ressie to a TA or can this be done? What is your thoughts?

I would leave your reservation the way it is. I booked through AAA and any time I want to add/remove/change my reservation I have to call AAA and work around there hours. I wanted to note something on my reservation and called the 800 number for Disney and was told I had to call my TA and have them call Disney. I figured if I had the confirmation # I could make alterations but I can't so I am finding it harder booking through the TA. I also made all of my own PS's and it seems alot of people even with TA's making there own dining reservations vs. the TA doing it - most people had to ask them to do (didn't know it was an offered service) And if you are getting the free dining no other discounts apply so they will not save you any $$$.

Your best options when booking a WDW vacation are to either use one of the Disney specialists you can read about here. Like Small World (WDWVacations.com) that we found on mousesaver.com last year. Our agent kept changing our reservations from our original AAA discount as better deals came out. Ending up saving us $800.00. This is the great thing about a Disney specialist. She also made all our dining reservations. We never had to call Disney for anything. A regular travel agent will ususally know very little about Disney and you may end up paying more.
Your other option is to do it yourself. However, since our Disney specialist knows more about discounts, codes, etc. we will let her take care of us from now on. When a discount comes out, she will know right away. A big part of her job is to stay up to date with the various deals available to save her clients money.
