There is prob a place to ask this, but I didn't find it. Anyone have personal experience at this hotel? The price is reasonable and it appears to be close (walking distance) from the entrace to Disneyland. Thanks in advance.

Never mind..the second time I tried the search a lot came up with it.

Compare it's cost to the Stovall's. We just retrurned from 5 days at DLR and we really enjoyed the Stovall's. We walked to the side door of the GCH and walked thru the lobby to Downtown Disney and then the park.

We normally stay at the Fairfield Inn (FI) but the cost for us (DH/DW/DD7) for 5 days at the Stovall was ~$900 with a character meal (lunch at Ariels) thru Costco. The CSAA/AAA rate for Stovalls was about the same but did not include the premium character meal (~$100 value). The FI was about $1200 from both Costco and AAA for the same period, again with the PremChar Meal being the deciding factor for me and my DD7.

We're paying $194.18 with taxes for two nights. Once we return, because we booked through Entertainment (with full cancellation rights) we'll get a $30 rebate. No interest in a character meal, so I think the price is reasonable.

it's up and over the freeway so keep that in mind. also check the HoJo site and see if you can get the Ent Rate while you're there, all you need is a card and you can get that off eBay for about $5. The HoJo has rates as low as $59 a night if you have that card.

we are looking at this same hotel and for me its the 24 hour pool thats giving it the edge because we dont normally take midday breaks and that hot tub and pool sounds good after a 14 or 15 hour day at DL but the drawback is that it isnt really a good walk it has to be a bit more of a walk than Hojos and that while walkable in am not so much in the pm lol after a long day that walk has got to feel like 20 miles!!!

We stayed there a few years ago, right before it was bought and turned into Menage. I believe it was a Holiday Inn when we were there. Even back then it was just fine. The grounds were nice, the restaurant was pretty good, kids ate free as well. Our room overlooked the pool and it was great for watching the Fireworks. The freeway is right there but I don't remember it being a problem at all for us and its worth it to be on that side as your view of the fireworks is as good as anywhere in the park. The pool area was great, my kids loved it and overall we had a very nice stay.

Now since then it has been renovated so it would seem logical that the rooms and grounds would be nicer now. I heard they made some improvements to the pool area and restaurant. As long as the service stayed good I think you would be happy with it. Now I wouldnt compare it to some 4 ior 5 star luxury hotel but its a nice clean place for a decent amount of money.

Also back then they had a shuttle to the front gate. I dont know if they still do but the walk honestly isnt that bad.

we stayed here in March for 5 nights. It was just DH and I and we loved it! we had a king loft and was right outside the pool area. the pool was open all night and that hot tub was perfect to relax in! I would say this is more for adults then kids style hotel- meaning I wouldnt want to take my kids here. It was truly relaxing atmosphere but there was a ton of kids in the pool. One night we were in the pool and OMG the Fireworks started up and it was amazing to watch that in the pool! It was very romantic! The restraunt is extremly cheap! Good deals- but after 2 meals it wasnt very flavorful. we had walked to DL twice- it is over a freeway and after being in the parks for a few days I was sore and didnt think I was going to make the hike! :rotfl: It took about 15 min to get there. We also took the ART.... during crowded times two ARTs came- the 11 and the 10 to help out. Over all a very nice place to stay. We did have trouble finding a Ice Machine that worked- but the guy at the bar filled up out tub, which was nice! And everyone in the staff was very nice and helpful! They also sell ART tickets at this hotel. Enjoy your time!

I believe that the shuttle is ART so it would not be free....but it is an option.:)
