Hi, I am wondering if I buy Park Hopper tickets separate from a package, can I still get a resort and dining plan as a package? Or does buying my park tickets separately make me lose my eligibility for the dining plan? Any advice? I found a deal on Borders Perks Buy 4days get 3days free. It would be a difference of $118 for our family of four. Is this a good deal?

In order to get the dining plan you must buy at least a one day ticket for every person who is a part of the package. This would probably negate any savings that you would experience with the deal you found unless you plan on visiting again, at which time you could use your one day tickets and upgrade them to whatever you might need for that visit.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me. I will sit tight and wait to book a package. Thanks.

The difference between a 4-day and a 7-day ticket is only about $7, so you're not missing out on a huge deal.

Well, the Borders Perks prices were for buy 4day pass and get 3 days free for an Adult $248.65 child $215 (2 adults and 2 kids) total is $927. AllEars showed the price for a 7 day as $281.16adult and $241.76 child total of 1045.81. difference of $118.81. However, when I looked at the prices on the Disney site their prices came to $982 for 2 adults, 2 kids 7day pass for a difference of only $55 savings with the Borders Perks. I hope this makes sense.....

Yes.
I couldn't see a $118 difference using the "real" ticket info.

Here are the current WDW gate prices for tickets INCLUDING TAX.

Days-- Adult-- Under 10
4-- $225.78-- $189.57
5-- $228.98-- $190.64
6-- $231.11-- $192.77
7-- $233.24-- $193.83

You could NOT get dining or any other package perks and the differance in price between a 4 day and a 7 day ticket is apprx. $6/person. Thats called advertising. "BUY 4 GET 3 FREE!" and save $6/person

Are you asking about free dining (which I don't believe is currently even an option) or simply adding the dining plan?

If you stay at a DVC resort, you can add the dining plan and not have to buy a full package through Disney. We rented points from a DVC member, got a good deal on a room onsite, still could use all the Disney transportation (including to/from hotel), bought our tickets through UT at a discount and were able to add the dining plan as well. Just make sure it is decalred ahead of time that you intend to pay for the dining at check in.

Is this true only for DVC resorts, or can you do that at any resort?

Yes, sorry I should have been more specific. You can make accomodation arrangements through Disney and stay at a DVC resort and NOT be able to do the separate tickets and dining plan. You have to be a DVC member or rent points from one in order to get this arrangement.

There is info out there about renting DVC points on mousesavers and allears and of course the Disboards DVC forum. If you have any questions from someone who has been through it, feel free to PM me.
