Question about Holidays at the resort

I realize it's early...but with my family deciding to do a Christmas trip over a Halloween trip this year, I need something to look forward to!

We have decided to stay at GCH December 16-19. My kids have never had the pleasure of seeing DL during the winter holiday and we are suckers for all things Christmas!! I want to make this trip extra special...so I was looking for suggestions/tips on other things the park offers during this time.

I read about "Breakfast with Santa" at the Catal Restaurant and it looked amazing, so I booked that for a late brunch on Sunday, the 17th. I would love for the kids to be able to decorate a gingerbread house. I know one of the restaurants in DTD does a Halloween version of this; does anyone know of any event/station/place that does gingerbread house decorating?

Also, I realize it's complete speculation at this point, but do we think PtN will come back this holiday season? None of us have seen it!! And I wonder if they'll keep the WOC Season of Light show going? It was pretty incredible last year.

Anyways...any other suggestions on how to make this trip extra special??

THANK YOU!!!

Have you checked in on the Holiday/Christmas season thread? https://disboards.com/threads/official-christmas-holiday-season-new-years-2017-thread.3606386/page-9

There has been some Paint the Night discussion there, as well as talk of what else is returning, when the season is starting, etc.

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen is what does the Holiday gingerbread workshop, but the dates are limited to only a couple of weekends, if I recall.

Thank you so much! I'll keep my eye out.

I just checked the dates from last year and if they're consistent, we should probably be there during one of the weekends they are offering! No info yet for this year. I'd love to snag a spot!

I recommend joining the Brennan's mailing list (http://www.rbjazzkitchen.com/mailinglist.php). You'll get emails for the non-DTD locations as well, but they usually send out an email with the gingerbread house workshop information (last year they announced both the Halloween and Christmas workshops in early September). I also recommend signing up as early as possible - it's pretty popular and fills up quickly.

We went Christmas 2016 and stayed at DH. My DG, DD and I did the "Christmas" themed High Tea at DL hotel. We did WoC with Dessert option and LOVED IT! Christmas Parade in DL is just wonderful. We never made it over to Santa in DCA:( Just not enough hours in a day!! Mind you "Festival of Foods" was a big drawing point to DCA last year. Again, we didn't try a single food item!! With everything that was planned, we just weren't hungry or enough time to try things. Soon there will be a sched posted on the website you can finalize your plans. Oh you will have just a wonderful time: happy planning!!!

Thank you!! I am so excited! I'm just excited to sit near the fire in the GCH lobby and look at the massive Christmas tree while sipping on hot chocolate. I went last November with my dad and most decorations were up. I got to see the parade (my dad and I did the holiday tour so got seating for the parade, which was awesome but I would never do the tour with my kids!) my kids will go crazy for the castle all lit up and the snow falling...it's so magical. The main part of my excitement is just seeing my kids faces! Melt!!

Make sure to plan your hot chocolate around when the carolers are singing in the lobby. They are wonderful, and the holiday spirit is so thick it is just wonderful!
