Will my DS7 like the holiday tour or will he be bored out of his mind? I hate to spend that kind of money if a 7 year old won't like it. I know we get priority admission to HM and IASW and reserved seats for the parade. What else happens on the tour?

In general I think most tours are going to be BORING to a young child.

I do not know anything specifically about this tour but I think you are better off saving your money.

I would like to know any details if anyone has done this tour.

Thank you

How well does your son do on field trips with school? Does he follow well and listen to the leader? Or does he tune out and fidget or try to go off on his own? You know your son the best, so if you think the tour will be a waste of (lots of) money, then it probably will be. In our personal experience, we waited until our nephew was 10 to take the holiday tour. At that age, he really enjoyed it.

Well, we had four kiddos ages 16, 13, 9 and 5. All the kids were bored with the tour part where they told us little facts and tidbits. My 16 year old still talks about the cookie and cocoa, so that was the highlight for her. LOL. The other nice part the kids liked was the preferred seating for parade. But I wouldn't say it was a big hit.

I will add that there was a couple on the tour with us that said they took the tour just for the preferred seating at the parade. My highlight was when Haunted broke down and they had to turn on the lights and do a walk off. We had never had that happen in all the times at DL.

DD was almost 5 when we went on the tour last year. I expected her to be bored for everything except the rides and parade. However I was pleasantly suprised that she loved the entire thing. But the only reason she loved it so much was because our awesome tour guide, Kristen, held her hand the entire time and let her "help lead" the tour. Kristen really made our DD feel special and she had a blast the entire time and enjoyed it way more than I expected her to. Had we had a different tour guide I know for a fact DD would have been bored hearing about the different Christmas traditions and such. She still would have enjoyed the rides (HM, IASW, the rail road), candy sample, hot cocoa, and the front row parade seat. Had the cookie not been gingerbread she would have enjoyed that as well. Poor me, I had to eat two cookies :lmao: Oh and she also likes the pin they gave us at the end of the tour also.

For us it was worth paying the price for her to take the tour. We were doing a quick weekend trip and we would not have gotten to ride IASW (due to the super long wait) had it not been for the tour. Plus its a great tour for us adults and we enjoyed every bit of it. Will definitely do it again if we do another holiday trip like that one.

My son did it last year and had fun. He loved the parade seats at the end, he was front and center and still talks about it.
