My family of 4 will be staying in a Cabin next week. My parents are local and will want to come out and spend some time with us. Are they allowed to do all the activities at the Fort with us? I am thinking of the campfire and watching the fireworks on the beach, but is there anything that will be a problem?

Or do I need to add them to our reservation?

Thanks!

Oooh, I need to know too! I've already invited friends staying at Wilderness Lodge and Port Orleans over for the campfire!!!!!!!!!!

It shouldn't be a problem unless they are spending the night. They can park in the lot used for Hoop-Dee-Doo. That lot is for anybody going to the show so no permit is needed for short term parking(several hours). They don't ask for any kind of ID for the campfire or when you go to the beach.

If ya'll send me $5.00 per person, I can arrange it for you.

Or you can just let the desk know,(when you check in) that you will be having guest. They'll get you set up.

Thanks! I figured they'd just park at our Cabin, but if there is closer parking that might work better!

Just check with the front desk and make sure they won't have a problem getting to your cabin...

They'll be with us at check in. Last time (different resort) they didn't have a problem giving us a parking pass for his car. I hope that will be okay this time! Otherwise, I believe we can add them to our reservation since we'll still be under 6 people.

Thanks!

You can do a couple of things here. When you check in, get an extra parking pass for them so they can drive directly to your cabin via going through the guard. If you don't want to do that, they can park in the day lot & take the bus to your cabin loop - or - you can drive up to front and pick them up.

You do not have to be an actual guest of Ft Wilderness to enjoy all that the Fort has to offer. Plenty of people come in from other resorts and people that are going to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review will take advantage of what there is to do at the Fort.

Just remember that you are only allowed to park one vehicle at either the cabins or at a site. There is only one 15 minute only parking lot at Meadow Trading Post for shopping convenience. The only parking aside from what I just mentioned are the lots up front.

Enjoy!!

So,,I'm guessing that my $5.00 suggestion isn't being considered ?

Since when are you giving a discount? You charged me $8 for information. :rotfl:

Times are slow right now,:rolleyes1
I love ya , but sorry,,no returns.

tell ya what, if we ever get to the Fort at the same time, I'll take ya to my secret fishing spot,,howz that ?

According to the people at the desk at Ft. Wilderness, they have to be registered under you're reservation to be able to use the pool. Other then that, they didn't list any other restrictions.

I have some friends that will be staying at the all star movie resort and we wanted them to join us as our guests for the day. I called reservations and the Ft. Wilderness number and reservations and the FW people all said that to use the pool, my guests would have to be on my reservation.

I'd vote for staying in the Hoop Dee Doo - overflow parking lot, then you swing by & pick them up in your car or meet them at the bus stop at Outpost.

Sure, if you want to be 'legal' about it, you can add them to your ressies & pay the extra, but just coming by to visit a few hours here & there I would see no need.

Also, some of the parking at the cabins won't even hold two cars.

We run in to this almost every time we go tot he fort. My sister lives in Orlando (UCF student) and she comes and hangs out with us for a couple of days. We just get an extra parking pass (guest pass) from the front desk and she parks in the overflow parking. She does not stay the night due to her living so close. We have never had any problem with anything and she takes part in everything that we do.
