Hi,
We are doing the 7 day eastern this Oct. and formal night is on Sunday. If we give them our clothes to press on Saturday, will we get them back early enough on Sunday for early seating? Anyone with experience doing this?

Thanks, Pacha

Hi Pacha--

We've used the laundry service on the Magic many times for both dry cleaning and pressing. They've always done a great job and the prices are actually pretty comparable to our dry cleaners at home.

I believe I have a Laundry Service slip at home that I can scan and post for you but from what I remember they have three different options for service.

Regular (Next Day) Service - Items are picked up prior to 9 PM (by Stateroom Hostess/Host) and returned before 5:00 PM the next day.

Same Day Service - Items picked up before 9 AM and returned before 5 PM.

Express Service - (Call for item pickup) Three hour service.

I believe the Same Day adds 50% and the Express adds 100% or something to that effect. But, as mentioned, the prices are pretty reasonable.

Something like $3.50 to dry clean/press a shirt. Press only runs 50% of that cost.

So, if you had a shirt to press only it would run about $1.75 or so for the regular service.

[P.S. Great sig! ;) ]

Best money I spent on the cruise! I love this service and will use it again.

Yes..you will definately have them back in time.

When you receive your luggage on Saturday, immediately place the items you need pressed in the laundry bag, complete the tag for pressing only or dry cleaning/laundry, whatever you need done. Then hang the laundry bag on your door knob, it will be picked up and all items will be returned to you the next day, ready for dinner that evening and for the rest of the week.

We love this option...makes for a very stress free week.

you can also go to www.dcltribute.com and find a laundry price list...pressing alone is 50% cost of dry cleaning. when you get to the home page, click on FAQ...should be able to find it that way

When we got back to our room from the safety drill, our stateroom host asked if we had anything that needed sent out to be dry cleaned. We filled out the form, stuff the items in the bag & he took it with him. We had them back the next day before lunch time. Great service & very reasonable price!! I have been to some hotels that say you will have it back next day & they don't arrive until late the next evening & they charge a bunch of $$ just for pressing...

We also had no problem. Sent the items on Saturday mid afternoon and had them back by lunch on Sunday.

This is really money well spent - the price for pressing only is minimal and sure beats spending time in the little laundry room using marginal equipment.

I love the laundry service BUT.....on one cruise we turned in our formal wear for pressing once we boarded but by Sunday around 4 still didn't have them back yet. We, too, had early dinner so I called them. They were able to hunt them down and get them to us in time.

Should I be paranoid about hanging the laundry bag outside the stateroom door to be picked up.???..I wouldnt want all of my formal shirts for the week "walking away"...is there any way to call the stateroom host to pick up my laundry?...Should I call Guest services for the stateroom host if I cant find him/her?

We just got off the magic and had our clothes sent out to be pressed also. We sent them on Saturday after dinner and they were delivered to our room on Sunday around 3:30pm. We had way TOO many clothes to put in the bag so we handed our pile to our room steward and he took care of it for us. It was great and only cost $27!! We will never cruise again without doing this. It was well worth it.

If you are worried about the bag/clothes disappearing you can always just hang an empty bag on door and attach a note that says the clothes are on the bed. He can always get into your room.

I just put all of our clothes to be pressed in the bag and left it on the bed, with the laundry slip filled out. It "magically" disappeared and reappeared the next day with all of the clothes neatly pressed....I just wished it worked that way at home!

I honestly wouldn't have felt comfortable leaving it out in the hall. Just leave it in plain sight and the room steward will take care of it.
