I already asked this question on the Club Level thread......

I have a question that someone who has stayed CL can probably answer for me. I have a good friend that lives in Orlando. Am I allowed to invite him to the resort for one night to come hang with me in the lounge? or would meeting at the outer rim be better? I figured it would be kinda cool to hang with him and shoot the breeze on one of our early nights when the kids go to bed.

here is the answer I got .....

“As long as the maximum occupancy for the room is not exceeded, you can ask to have one more guest added for a night. If you're already traveling as a party of two, there will be a resort fee.”

I am not looking to have him sleep over as it’s our family vacation. But I haven’t seen him in awhile and it would be nice to chat for a few hours over drinks on a night we don’t do the party after the kids go to bed. Any input would be appreciated!

absolutely! Heck, we've had family reunions at ft wilderness with florid a family! They have to check in at the gate with valid if and let the security guard know they're meeting you. They may ask for the reservation name so if it's not in yours let your friend know who's it's in. They will take his or her name and possibly plate number but that's about it. Enjoy!

Yes the reservation is in my name and thanks for the info !

FWIW...having guests come to Ft. Wilderness isn't the same as having a guest at the club level lounge. I'm sorry that I don't really have an answer for you, but I wouldn't use the Ft. Wilderness example as an answer to your question.

I have done this at AKL , we stayed a week CL and had some family in the area visiting for the day and the lounge staff more then welcomed them in with us ! I would take it up with the lounge staff .. case by case basis .. we had no trouble what so ever ... they actually encouraged them to “ have a drink and some snacks !”

Man that would irritate me to no end if I heard them say that.

Why is that ? It is not taking AWAY things from you .. they restock constantly and your getting everything you pay for . I don’t get the annoyance? I pay to stay CL and it wouldn’t bother me at all . It’s disneys merchandise, do you get annoyed when people get “ pixie dust” like room upgrades , extra fast passes ect ect ??
As long as I’m getting what I paid for I wouldn’t give it another thought wow .. lol
If a beer and a few cookies gets you that irritated life must be hard .

My friend was staying club level at BWI a couple years ago, and I was staying in a regular room. The staff made is absolutely CLEAR to her that I was unwelcome to join her there. The lounge is supposed to only be for guests staying in a club room (and gets over crowded as it is). She grabbed me a glass of wine, and we sat on her balcony instead.

And Disney’s notorious inconsistencies.. lol but glad you still had a good time and enjoyed a glass on the balcony, probably better then the lounge anyway ! lol I probably would have done that to begin with .. the only reason we sat in the lounge is the little ones wanted to play in the kid area and watch the little movie they had on ...

This is why I asked the question. I will have no problem just meeting him at the Outer Rim or we may book a late dinner at California Grill for the whole family plus him then we can hang at the bar there. He has an AP and goes to WDW a lot but he was unsure about visiting the CL lounge as I was. I'm never looking to make other guest feel irritated. Honestly it doesn't matter to me either way, I was just looking for some information.

If having him go to the lounge and chill out with you is that important (and probably easier with kids) I would add him to my reservation for the one night (if I'm not over occupancy) and pay the fee. $35 I think. If it's not a big deal I would just do Outer Rim and dinner and hang at a bar after. Either way have fun!!

I would go with him not being allowed in the lounge and plan around that.

Just ask the cl staff when you check in .. and go with their answer , don’t plan around strangers “ irritations “ no one gets irritated when they get free room upgrades or other perks that others pay for I know for me I worry about ME on vacation and not strangers , if the staff thinks it’s taking away from other guests they will tell you plain and simple . HAVE FUN ! Good luck !

It isn't pixie dust when Cast Members give away something that someone else has paid for.

People staying on Club Level pay for that experience. Random guests do not pay for it. So when Cast Members give away food and drink from the Club Level Lounge, they are giving away something that Club Level guests paid for.

Are you under the impression you pay for ALL the food and drinks in the lounge ? you pay for the access , you pay for what you are using .. not ALL of it ... lol that’s just ludicrous. Why is it pixie dust if someone gets upgraded to CL but a visitor can’t have a cookie ? If you get upgraded technically you didn’t pay for it either and the other guests did .
