Hi All,

I have a quick question about gratuity on the dining plan. I was reading that an automatic gratuity of 18% will be added on for parties of 6 or more.

Does that 6 limit include anyone at the table or only people who order? I ask because I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old (at the time of visit) who will be there as well. Obviously, the 2 year old will eat off of our plate and the infant won't eat anything.

While I do tip above the average for excellent service, I really hate the idea of giving someone a default 18% tip (on a high bill) for simply horrible service (which we did have once or twice last trip).

That being said, will they consider a party of 4 adults, 1 toddler, and 1 infant a party of 6? 4? or 5?

You're a party of six. Infants and toddlers are included in the party size. Yes, you will be assessed the automatic gratuity. If you feel it should be reduced due to poor service, you would need to talk to the manager to do so.

This was easy enough to answer, so I didn't move it - but be aware that according to the policy of the restaurant board, all tipping discussion and questions are to be confined to the Tipping Information Thread stuck at the top of this forum. The first post has an FAQ, plus the reasons why we have a single thread on this topic in the first place.
