does anyone have pics of goodins cakes. i'd like to see them before ordering.

No I have not. I am not a big fan of Goodings, they are very expensive. I love Publix and shop there all the time. They have one of the best bakeries for a grocery store!! Do you have your mind set on Goondings? If not, I would suggest checking out Publix... :thumbsup2 Their cakes even come with a money back guarantee! Not that you would even need it.. that is why they have it. They know they have a good product.:goodvibes

The first time I ever went to a Gooding's about 20 years ago the store was very nice and clean and yes, expensive.Last time I went inside one last year it just seemed old, dirty and not very nice, and yes still expensive.I have no experience with their cakes but would also suggest sticking to Publix.

We were at Goodings in May and it was very unkept. The bakery was full of stuff that looked like it was sitting there forever. I think someone else took it over and other than raising the prices even higher, they forgot how to clean. Doesn't the super Walmart do cakes??? Good Luck!:upsidedow

We used to use them for cakes for when we celebrated at Disney- we would bring them to Chef Mickeys or wherever we dining or hotel...They used to taste good-never great- but the last 2 we had(2 yrs ago) were like cardboard-not even as good as plain poundcake. They Looked great-wonderful decorating job but the taste was just BAD-ReallyBAD. We order directly from Disney or Publix and pick them up.-Publix aren't as fancy but taste better.

thanks for theinfo. I'll go with Publix or with the GF bakery for Grand Floridian Cafe dinner on our first night. I'm just concerned about cost. Publix doesn't have a Donald cake which is what I really want. With Publix it would be Mickey and Minnie or Winnie

Wal-mart has horrible cakes compared to Publix. They are very dry.... they taste like something is missing.

Will they deliver or do you need to pick it up?

I don't think they deliver, probably would have to pick it up. I think they make complete meals, too, but never saw any information saying they deliver. You can always call one near where you are staying.

We mostly use the one next to Vista Cay, on Universal Blvd., and near Windsor Hills we use the new one up Lake Wilson Road (right out of WH), straight ahead, one light, cross intersection, on the right hand side. We also use the one on 192, left off of Old Lake Wilson Road, a few miles up on the right. But there are lots and lots of Publix stores everywhere you go in Orlando, Kissimmee, and surrounding areas!

No, but there is the Goodings (they have indeed fallen in quality & we now avoid the store) and a very nice Wynn Dixie just a couple blocks down. They do nice, custom cakes & bakery stuff there and that store has always been kept up to date. Get the loyalty card on line for good savings as well.

Yes, it's on the same road as the outlet mall.

On 535 go under I -4 and turn left onto Vineland. Pass Marriott Village on left, Outlet Mall on right and just past the outlet mall on left is the shopping center with a Publix and Walgreens.

Do you have a phone number for that store so I can order a birthday cake from there. I can't find it anywhere. Would love to use the Winn Dixie because that is where we always shop and I know where it is.

If it were me I'd go with Publix. Our Winn Dixie & Publix are across the street from each other, so we've had both several times. IMHO, Publix' cakes blow WD's away, & both are better than the WDW cakes we've had.

HUH? The Wynn Dixie is no where near the Publix in LBV. There is no Publix close to DTD or the Crossroads. The closest is up by Lake Byran - a rough drive beyond I4 and not easy to find due to the strange road/traffic setup in that area. You could walk (about a mile) to the Wynn Dixie from DTD and we've had as good or better baked goods from them as any Publix.
