I've read that you should expect to get soaked on Popeye and Bluto's as well as Ripsaw Falls, but haven't really seen anything about Jurrasic Park. My wife and I are planning on driving back home once the park closes and don't want to be soaked since we'll have a 4 hour drive. Any advice? We'll probably bring a change of clothes just to be safe, but I was looking for some advice from those who have ridden JP.

JPRA is kinda funny...it depends on the weight of the boat and where you're sitting. Some times I've gotten soaked and other time barely a sprinkle. It's really a luck of the draw.

That is so true!

Or just do all the wet rides early,so you can drive home dry..;)

When we were there in June we saw people that were wearing poncho's on all three rides. In fact, on Ripsaw Falls, my DS (9) asked some people why they were wearing rain coats when it wasn't raining (brave isn't he :lmao: ). Their reply was that they enjoy the ride just not the water.
Maybe this is an option for you. Personally I love riding the water rides and getting soaked on a hot day and squishing my underwear on a following ride :rotfl:
But that is just me.

Wear your bathing trunks for just in case so that they will dry quicker.

Nothing worse than a wet wedgie:rolleyes1

JP: The front has the highest likelyhood of getting the most wet.

That's it. Rows 2-5 may or may not get soaked, it is completely luck of the draw.

And JP usually only gets your upper half wet.

Like others have said, sometimes I will get off of Jurrassic Park completely dry and others I will be soaked.

If your worried about getting wet at all, take a spare set of clothes and ride JP early on in your day. Besides being able to dry out during the day, the queue's for the water rides are typically lighter before 12pm and after 4pm.

Personally, I find ponchos useless. I used one once because we had previously bought it as it was raining and it did not shield me from the soaking I received on Popeye at all.

Just got back yesterday from a weeks vacation at universal royal pacific. We rode JP 4 times (front, middle, back) and pretty wet everytime. Plan to get wet and be plesently surprised if you don't. The boys in our family just wore their trunks all day.

We were at the parks last week..

We planned for a "wet day". Boys wore swimtrunks and t-shirts and DD and I wore swimsuits with shorts. Flipflops and watershoes all the way around.

We were in the second row of JP and did get pretty wet, but then Ripsaw and Bluto's got us absolutely soaking. We rode them both twice. What a blast!!!

We were at Royal Pacific so we just went back to the room and dried off (many apologies to anyone who may have sat in the damp seats of the water taxi)

I would highly encourage you to take that change of clothes!

I agree! I have done them with and without ponchos. There have been times that the water rolled right off them and onto my shorts, or your bottom gets soaked anyway, right thru the poncho. I have given up using them. If I don't feel like getting wet, I don't ride the rides. When I want to get wet, I ride the rides. JP is a chance. The other 2 are a for sure wet ;)

Thanks for all the great feedback. I talked it over with DW and we both love any kind of water rides, so we'll most likely take a change of clothes to wear on the ride home. I think we'd do that either way because personally, I feel more refreshed with a fresh set of clothes on anyways.
