I was wondering if anyone could provide some information/reviews of the Fort Wilderness Cabins. We are planning a trip in January and we have a 3 year old and a 6 month old that will be with us.

Thanks -

I have stayed lots of times and I think it will be great with the kids you have your own kitchen with full maid service and the kids can go outside your door and play. Having to hop a bus to get to the transportaion hub can be much at times but not too bad and the boat ride to MK or any of the MK resorts is nice.

The camping thread may be able to give you more insight also

We really like the cabins, and with 2 small children, I think it would be great. You could put the little ones to bed in the bedroom and close the door. The the grownups would have the run of the living and dining area, the kitchen and bathroom, as well as the porch without bothing the kids or having to whisper to avoid waking them. The murphy bed in the living room is the same size as the bed in the bedroom, so if you sleep in the murphy bed, you can get up, fix breakfst and such before waking the children. You also won't have to worry if the baby cries since you aren't really next door to anyone like in a hotel.

We have two small kids and LOVED the cabins!!!!

We've only been to WDW once and stayed there for eight days. Mr. FFerret (aka Grumpy) didn't have a whole lot of nice things to say during our trip BUT he did let me know many times over how awesome the cabins were :)

Transportation was a bit of a minor pain; you can rent golf carts but start budgeting for them NOW as they cost around $43 a day back in 2003.

We stayed in the cabins twice many moons ago. Each time we had a baby and toddler(s). I thin it is wonderful in that situation as the baby can nap while the other child is in the living room and as my3kids said at night they can sleep in peace while you have the living room. And if your baby awakens crying no neighbors are disturbed.

We did drive to EPCOT and what was then the Disney Village.....this was before MGM and AK.:D
