We visited the Fest during opening weekend and had a blast!! My DBF loved the 15th Anniversary Festival Beer (Coastal Wheat Light) by Samuel Adams. This may be a stupid question, but is there anywhere else I can buy this beer other than the festival? His birthday is coming up and I was thinking this would be a fun surprise to get him some. Thanks!

I don't think you can purchase the special brew outside of EPCOT

But the "regular" coastal wheat is available at practically any liquor store now and is very good.
I also suggest the Cherry Wheat and the Blackberry Witbier.

I actually have liked every sam adams i have tried (them all in other words...except boston ale...overpriced bud) and they do the "fruit" beers pretty well. The coastal wheat is made with lemons and it is a pretty solid beer you can get anywhere.

Did SA really make a light version of the Coastal Wheat, or is that just how they're naming it for the festival. The Coastal is towards the lighter side to beign with, so it may just be the way it's named for the kiosk.

If I can remember, I think last year's festival brew was the Blackberry Wit

In the past they've actually had a special blend as the "festival" beer. Now maybe they shortcut it by having a lesser known "brewmasters collection" as the "festival"

Sam Adams works great for the F&W...probably their most suited sponsor. Because they seem genuinely more interested in having fun than making money (though they make gobs)...and that is a good partner for disney.

Disney wants the money...the beer guys have fun in EPCOT.

That works well. I've had the "beer school" with all 3 guys on the commercials and they all seemed to be laid back carefree types of guys...

i would guess they all like Jimmy Buffett:goodvibes

Last year's festival brew was not the Blackberry Wit. I don't know what it was exactly, but I sampled it many, many times and would remember if it was blackberry.

The festival brew in 2008 was the best beer I have ever had. I am not a big wheat beer fan, so am disappointed that this year's "festival" beer is a wheat beer (I am sure that will not, however, stop me from sampling it a few times when I go down on Saturday).

The Blackberry Wit topic caused much debate last year, and even while at the F&W there was debate at the Kiosk. To me, it tasted like a Blackberry or Boysenberry infused ale. Both the CM at the kiosk and the lady running the 'beer school' said it was the Blackberry Wit. It tasted similar to me, and I just figured the taste diffrence was due to being on tap vs bottle.

I didn't attend in '08. I'm not sure what the earlier fest brews were, but in '06 it tasted somewhere between the winter lager and a marzen, while '07 reminded me of a dunkelwiezen or wiezenbock?
