My husband and I are considering a trip in early October. I've been researching various ways to save the most money and we're definitely staying off-site. My question is about the Express Pass...it is worth it? I've searched the forums and can't seem to find any opinions. We will be in the parks on a Friday and Saturday (so that may matter in the opinion). We do not have any children and we are fairly patient people. Just looking to see if it's worth purchasing. Maybe only on Saturday? We plan to purchase two-day park-to-park tickets and visits both IoA and US both days. Opinions from seasoned vets?

Wait until you get there to decide. If you arrive and think you'd enjoy having it, it can be purchased all over the parks.

Went to both parks two years ago without the pass and we were there Thurs/Fri & Sat. We spanned the age groups, I'm 60, daughter 40 & grand daughter 20 and none of us enjoyed the long waits on the popular rides. Went back last year and we got the passes. It was worth every penny. Hit the rides over and over. Only thing it's not good for it the Harry Potter Forbidden Journey and castle entrance. We had early entrance so we hit that early and went from there. It is good on the dragon coasters in HPW. We're going again in two weeks and you can bet I've already got the passes. It really does make a big difference.

"Worth it" is a highly subjective thing. I agree with damo and Metro--decide once you're there.

Do you need a separate pass for BOTH parks? If we are doing US in the am and IoA in the PM will the pass purchased at US work in IoA later that day?

You would need a separate EP for each park unless of course you purchased the two park EP.

you will be there during hhn the hard ticket event.

the studios will close at 5:00 pm both friday and saturday.

ioa will be open until 7:00 pm.

for that saturday, you might want to do the studios first until it gets crowded in the afternoon.
then switch to IOA for the rest of the park day.

If you are going during the Columbus day weekend, you will see some park crowds at different times.

like the others, i do agree.
wait and buy the epp once you are there and can decide if you need it.
never buy the epp in advance.
if it would rain, the park lines clear out quickly.

Thank you all for the excellent advice! We will definitely wait and purchase it while in the parks...and we will certainly budget for it just in case!

We went to IOA on Sunday. Undercover Tourist listed it as a green day for crowds. The wait for FJ was only 20 minutes right in the middle of the day.

How much does the pass cost per day?

My friends (family of 5) are going the last week in July - thoughts on if they need it or not?

The price depends on the anticipated crowd level for that particular day and it's also priced per park. Here's the link to the pricing schedule:

It looks like the EP is $69.99/per person for both parks during the month of July and for IOA only...the price is $59.99/per person.
