Hi :)

I was planning to stay onsite at the beginning of October ( hoping that HHNs will have started by then ) and was curious if anyone knows if your room key can be used to bypass lines during the HHNs as well ? The last time we stayed at RPR and loved having the express pass & would find it pretty difficult not staying onsite in the future. Just curious if it has that additional perk during the time of year .

If not , does anyone know the approx rate for an express pass during HHNs?

TIA :yay:

the hotel key only works for the parks during the regular operating hours.

HHN is a hard ticket event and hotel keys can't be used for that.

you can buy the express pass plus for using the express lines for the houses and rides. it is only valid one time only per ride/house.

i think i paid $70 for the peak nights for express and $50 for the non peak nights last year.

Oh okay thanks for the info !

I didn't realize the express passes are THAT expensive :scared: Isn't that as much as the ticket itself ? If I'm staying on site would it be better to split up HHN's and maybe go for 2 nights if possible - with the money I would be saving for not buying an express pass? Or do you think it would be best to just suck it up and buy the express pass ;) ?

Speaking strictly of HHN attendance: Based upon what I heard, the first two weeks had light crowds. Then over Columbus Day weekend (the weekend of my visit), the parks became pretty full. That continued for the next couple of weeks and then the crowds lightened up again near the end of October.

Here are the reviews from last year's HHN: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1964471. There's some references to wait times throughout some of the posts to give you an idea of what size of crowds you'll experience.

Also, if you have a day ticket for the day you'll be attending HHN, do the Stay and Scream. When you're in the park, and the staff are herding park guests towards the exit, show your HHN ticket to one of the staff and they'll direct you to a Stay and Scream holding area. Several minutes before the front gates are re-opened for HHN, the Stay and Scream area will be released. This will give you the opportunity to see 2 or 3 houses before the front gate crowds catch up!

I just had to add: After finding that thread and reading through parts of it, I'm definitely getting excited for this October! It was an awesome thread and the reviewers in it rocked!

Totally agree with patster.

I have gone the 1st, 2nd and 3rd weekends of HHN nights.

Opening night has the media there. once they leave, all is fine crowd wise.

I have been going since 2000 to hhn.
Last year, the first weekend and second did not have huge crowds.
The first weekend/opening weekend, hhn is only on for friday and saturday.

At this point, it is too difficult for me to predict how large the crowds will be.

It may or may not be like 08 in crowds during that time period.
I have encountered crowds during the 1st and 2nd weekends in the past.

Last 3 years, I started going only during the 3rd weekend as hhn was on 4 nights in a row.

Once you get to the Columbus day weekends for hhn, you need the epp or you will encounter long waits in lines.

You said you were going the first week of October.

If hhn starts sept, then you will hit the second week of the event.
The second week has hhn on friday, saturday and sunday nights.
