My family will be leaving WDW in 16 days yay!!!!! we are staying at our timeshare so we will be driving to the parks...we will renting a ecv for the week my dad who has walking issues but isn't classified disabled so we do not a placcard or a disabled license plate how do we get to the gate with the ecv if we are parked way out in the back parking lot? I know you can't get those things on the trams? is there a way to park close so that he can ride it to the front gate? the last time we were at WDW we rented ecv at disney but that was just for a long weekend in Mar....we will be there for over a week so we thought it would save money renting from a rental company for a week....any suggestions would be great...Thanks

There is more information about parking in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, but the short answer is to tell the parking lot CMs ( each one you come to) that you have an ECV, but don't have a handicapped parking permit. They will direct you where to park..
Just keep in mind that if they direct you to the 'Medical Parking' area, the spots with signs or blue paint are actual handicapped parking spots that you do need a permit to park at. There will be other spot with white paint that you can park at legally..

I'm here now and sprained my foot at Epcot 2nd day of a 12 day trip. Rented a scooter and parking has been a breeze. :goodvibes

thanks for the advice....was kinda worried about parking and the ecv rental. I got to thinking I could do a drop off and then go park but that seemed to be very time consuming. So I just need to talk to the cm and let them know I have a ecv

You could do a drop off and then go park. For some people that works better.
