Question about early morning entry/hotel stay

I have purchased 5 day park tickets separate from my hotel reservation and they come with one early morning entry. I plan to stay at a non-disney timeshare. My first night, Friday, I come in late and have to stay at a separate hotel as my actual timeshare reservation starts on a Saturday. If I splurge and stay Friday night at Paradise Pier for the early morning entry benefit for Saturday morning, will this one early morning entrance also use my one early morning benefit from the tickets I pre-purchased? I am hoping to get two early morning benefits - one from staying at Paradise Pier and one from my multi day tickets. Would this work? Just wondering if anyone knows. Thanks!

You would get two...just be sure when you enter the park on Saturday that you show them your room key, and tell them you are using EMH (Extra Magic Hour), and that you DON'T want them to use the MM (Magic Morning) benefit on the ticket yet. You should be fine.

Just make sure you know on Saturday you get Disneyland EMH not DCA (Disneyland Park: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays).
So both of your MM and EMH are Disneyland.

To be honest having done it twice now we found EMH at Disneyland to be pointless. It took us 30 minutes of the 1 hour EMH just to get through the turnstiles both times we tried it. Also the attractions we really wanted to do weren't even open so it was a bust for us.

I think in order to really take advantage of early morning entries at either park (but especially DL since more people have access to it), you need to be at the gates in line a minimum of 30-45 minutes BEFORE the early morning hour starts...otherwise, like you said, it's pretty pointless.

We were that early and still had a wait of about 30 minutes. So basically we stood outside for an hour for a 30 minute extra amount in the actual park.

I feel like they really need to rework their entry system to make things smoother. There should be a way that if you are staying on property you can have your photo linked to your ticket at hotel check in. The other part was there was no clear signs on which turnstiles would be used for EMH and MM so there were tons of people in line who couldn't even get in and then would fight with CMs when they were turned away.

They also just need to stop selling magic mornings. What's the point if anyone can buy the extra hour as well.

??? This confuses me...do you mean the early entry for onsite guests should stop since anyone can buy a 3-day ticket and get it? Or vice versa?
I have to admit, when I stay onsite, I don't bother with the EMH at DL...too crowded, but I do love the EMH for DCA!!

I mean that they should stop selling the early entry for those staying off site. Seems silly that they call it a perk of being onsite but the tickets also include it.

I love early morning at DCA too! So worth it. We got on a ton of rides before they opened.

Totally agree! I would actually use the DL early entry when staying onsite if they didn't include it on tickets...as it stands now, like I said, I avoid the DL early entry and only do the DCA one when staying onsite.

That's bizarre and has never been our experience. Being there 30+ minutes early has meant being very close to the front of the line, and there's nothing that could happen in 5 or so families that could take half an hour.

But they always have, since I've been going. And I've never had a similar experience as you had. So something else was going on that day, or an earlier start time needed to happen. Was it this summer? The crowds were heinous this summer. Still getting over our July visit; hoping to shake it off in time for our already planned January visit.

It was actually last year during the Avengers half marathon. This summer (August) we did not attempt early entry and actually went to the park not offering it.

We used EMH last week at DL, but got to the gate about 7:15. We walked right in. (It was a week day fyi.) I think it was definitely worth having the EMH, since we got to have a character meal, and still get in quite a few rides before the park became too busy.
