I've been reading this board, and have read where EE morining are now called Suprise Mornings. But I was reading my new Birnbaum's Official Guide book and on page 50 it says " Early Entry into the theme parks (aka Suprise Mornings) is no longer offered to quests staying at WDW resorts." What is up with this.....I'm I reading it wrong? Doesn't aka mean as known as? I was just wondering. And under ON-Property Perks it doesn't say anything about it.
Thanks
Patty

The policy has changed and changed again since the Birnbaums book was last published. It is again a perk for onsite guests, and they seem to be checking ID's much more stringently than they used to. I saw several groups turned away from both the AK and MK during early entry on my most recent visit--theyw ere not WDW Resort guests.

We went early entry to MK, Epcot and AK last week. AK was very strict about it and we had to show each persons card. I saw several groups turned away who didn't have their cards. At MK and Epcot you just kind of had to wave one card and they waved you through.

I'm glad to see that they are checking - and turning people away.

Do they have designated lines or do you have to just push your way through any non resort guests that are already waiting?

You just get in line with everyone--basically when you get up to the turnstiles they ask for room ID, if you do'tn ahve one you are sent "away"...I guess to the back of the line.. and told that you have to wait for the general public opening time.

Just to clarify, Disney is now calling it "Extra Magic Hour".

What card is it that you have to show to get early entry into the theme parks? Im staying at POR but I plan to buy theme park passes through shades of green. The stars and stripes LOS passes.

Your room key is your resort ID. Make sure you have one for everyone in your party, including children. Infants won't need one though.

so to get into the theme parks you have to show your resort ID/ room key AND have your passes? Do you only have to show your resort ID for early entry?

Other than early entry you just need your pass/theme park admission for everyone in the party.

For early entry you will need both your room key and pass/theme park admission for everyone in the party.
