Well, you can be really mad, but not at me, ok? But yes, if you are a DVC member and you want valet parking at one of the DVC resorts, it is without charge. Of course, a tip is a nice thing.
Charging for Valet Parking only started within the last year or 2. Some people have been charged when they shouldn't have been so you're not in that bad of shape. I prefer to park the car myself so I can get in and out. I just like being in control I guess. I usually drop of the family and go park the car or if it's pretty, we'll all walk for the extra excercise. Not that we don't get a lot when we're at Disney anyway.
In addition if you have a handicapped parking permit, then valet parking is complimentary throughout WDW. As previously mentioned, tipping is appropriate.
I have taken advantage of the free valet parking but have always tipped the staff for their trouble. It is a big time saver at times.
I need everyone's help on this one though.
My sister and BIL will be our guest this coming spring. They will probably arrive a couple of hours ahead of us since they will be driving and staying local the night before. Will they have to pay for valet parking?
Thanks
Good one. Assuming they're staying with you on points, add their name to the reservation and give them a copy of the confirmation with their name on it. You may also want to entrust one of your member cards to them. My guess is there is no formal rule on this situation and it will be a judgement call on behalf of the staff there.
