Question about DVC mousekeeping....

This is our first time using our DVC membership at the World. The first time we used our points was for DCL. Anyway, when I received our reservation confirmation in the mail I noticed the cleaning schedule. We check in Sept. 1 and our check out date is Sept. 12th. Our cleaning schedule is a full cleaning on the 4th and trash and towel service on the 8th. It seems it would make more sense if it were switched with the trash and towel being the 4th and the full cleaning being on the 8th. Can someone tell me if this is always the way?

It used to be the way you suggest with T&T first and then a full cleaning, but most people prefered it the other way around, so they switched to full cleaning first followed by the T&T. You CAN request it to be switched if you choose to when you get there.

What is the benefit to having a full cleaning only three full days after you have arrived as opposed to seven full days? Since this is the first time we have used our DVC for a resort stay I would love to hear input as to why people prefer the full cleaning first the the T&T later.

It depends somewhat on the length of your stay. If you are there for 8 days, you wouldn't want full cleaning only 1 day before your departure, probably. If you have guests leaving and new guests arriving mid-stay, you probably want clean sheets, etc. (Just a couple of examples.)

Ok, I understand a little better. We are there for 12 days which was why I would prefer for them to be switched around. I wasn't thinking in terms of a week length stay. That makes perfect sense, thank you for clearing that up!

Studio/Inn Room - $30.00 per day requested
One-Bedroom - $45.00 per day requested
Two-Bedroom - $60.00 per day requested
Three-Bedroom - $75.00 per day requested

We usually have a 2 bedroom and often have guests that change over in the middle of our 7-12 night stay. We often rearrange our cleaning schedule to fit our needs. I like to have the full cleaning the day the guests change over.

Frankly, I'd rather not have mousekeeping at all. I have gotten so I dislike having the inconveniece of waiting for someone to "do" the room, or not knowing if they will walk in on a nap etc. I really do think of it as our "home away from home", and mousekeepers feel like home invaders to me.
