We recently returned from US/IoA. My daughter rode Dr. Doom. She has ridden it on 2 previous trips and says that it has been "toned down". I told her she has grown, and probably the harness fits her better than when she was smaller. Anyone else feel this ride doesn't go up or down with the same acceleration? Just curious if she is right. Thanks.

She's just used to it now.
If you go back to Disney, she'll call them "kiddie" rides. There's maybe two or three in each park that give a thrill. It's still fun to go back there every few years and re-live the magic.
And after conquering IOA/USF, you'll have to move onto a mega thrill park like Cedar Point.

I agree, she is probably just *used* to it. I rode it (again) this past summer and it still scared the &!@$ out of me ;) The hulk, however, didn't bother me at all :rotfl:

I'm like that too! I can ride the Hulk all day, but can't handle Dr Doom at all! :scared1:

Does Dr Doom pull you up slowly then drop you or does it pull you up quickly? I've seen the pics and have been on other rides like this just wondered how this one works? Thanks. Will be there one week from tomorrow.

It weighs the tower, slowly lifting it, then shot tanks fill with air, and you get LAUNCHED upwards at 40mph.
