http://www.wdwinfo.com/downtown/index.htm

check out that link. it's free and broken into 3 parts, west side that has Disney Quest and Cirque (not sure of spelling), some restaurants and others, then there's Pleasure Island in the middle, which is clubs, and then there is Disney Marketplace that has disney shops, the lego place and more restaurants. Anyway, check out the link for a much better description.

Downtown Disney is a shopping and restaurant complex on Disney property. There are several restaurants, lots of stores (big names like Virgin Records and LEGO as well as specialty shops), a Cirque du Soleil venue, and Disney Quest. There's also a huge World of Disney store with all Disney merchandise, and a big toy store. Restaurants include House of Blues, Bongos, and Rainforest Cafe.

You do not need a ticket of any kind to go to Downtown Disney. You do need tickets to go to Disney Quest, Cirque or Pleasure Island (which is at the west end of DD).
