Question about Disneys Magic Bands

I do not want to stay at a disney hotel because of the cost or book tickets via disney direct, if I were to buy the tickets from a authorised seller which I have previously used I.e 14 day ticket, would I be able to exchange my ticket/card at customer service at one of the parks for a magic band ? If so how much would it cost? Thanks

Tickets cannot be "exchanged" for MagicBands, nor do they need to be.

But, you can BUY a MB for $12.95, plus tax, and link it to your tickets in your MyDisneyExperience account.

You can then use that MB in place of your ticket for park entry and FP+ reservations and activation.

The MB are available at virtually all gift shops at WDW and on-line at www.disneystore.com

You can, you just have to buy it.

Free MagicBands are for resort guests as it is their room key and used for their dining plan and charge backs. The cost is built into their room cost.

You're not understanding what Robo is saying.

Your ticked will be linked to your MDE account. If you buy a magic band it will also be linked to your MDE account. You can use your magic band for FP+ and park admission, but you don't exchange one for the other - you'll still have both.
