Question about Disneyland hours next week

We have decided to do a last minute trip down to DL next week and are looking at going to the parks for two days: Monday, 12/12 and Tuesday, 12/13. The strange thing is the hours. This week (e.g., today), DL is open from 9am-9pm (and CA is open from 10am-8pm), but next Mon/Tues, DL is only open from 8am-6pm(!) and CA is open from 10am-9pm. Is there something going on with those two days that I need to be aware of? The three hour difference in closing times between CA and DL next week strikes me as particularly odd, even given WoC. Is it better to be in DL on Sunday (8am-Mid) on what I would expect to be a pretty darn busy day than it is to be there on Monday when it is only open for 10 hours? We typically do less busy days, so I am used to reduced hours but closing at 6pm seems odd, especially when the rest of the month's schedule (including this week) is open more than those two days. Do they really kick you out right at 6pm?

:confused::confused3

Those are the two days of the Disneyland Cast Member (employee) Christmas parties. Disneyland will close earlier so that the CM's can enjoy the park. Yes, they will kick you out at 6:00, but as you pointed out, California Adventure will still be open for a few hours so everyone from DL can move there.

Ah, that makes sense. Did seem strange to me that the hours were so different. So that begs the question....since our plans are fairly flexible, should we do the park on Sunday-Monday instead of Monday-Tuesday? It will be much busier on Sunday, of course. But it will also be open 6 hours longer. Keeping in mind that we have a four year old that I seriously doubt could last from 8am all the way to midnight. We could also split our trip between Sunday and Tuesday and just do something else local Monday to recover from such a long day on Sunday. Thoughts?

We will be at DL this Sat-Mon too. Since it is a short day on Monday and Tuesday, the crowds will be very low those days. Fireworks will also be provided at 5:45 too.

My thoughts if I were you would be to split the trip Sun and Tuesday and rest on Monday. This way, your family can enjoy DL at night on Sunday. Rest from the late night on Sunday and then enjoy the near empty park on Tuesday. The park may be open 6 hours more on Sunday but the lines for the attractions will be much longer too. They are opening the park at 8 am instead of 9 on Mon and Tues for the short day too.
