We are new to Disney and I am a little confused about the dining plan. With our counter service meal are there restrictions on what you can get? We were thinking of going to Mara, Wolfgang Pucks Cafe, and Riverside Mill Food Court, but I wasn't sure if you could only get certain things from them when your using the didng plan. Thanks!

We have only eaten at WPCafe, but could choose from anything on the menu. The portions there are huge, so you could definitely share. We were there on our last night trying to use 3 CS for the 3 of us, and it was a bunch of food! The rosemary chicken is truly half a chicken with enough mashed potatoes for me and DD and some left over. Not complaining, just plan accordingly!:goodvibes

The options are pretty generous. The biggest restriction was on the choices that come witha kid's meal. Most places it was entree, drink, and pick two from a coice of:applesauce, grapes, (yucky)pudding, and one other thing. I understand they will also give you fries at most places if you ask. With breakfast,an extra drink takes the place of dessert, so you can get two drinks with your breakfast.
They are making changes tothe dining plan next year, so what I know only applies to this year.
Withthe adult meals, there are limitations, but they were quite generous. Like the huge kitchens sink sundae at Beaches and Cream isn't included.
The snacks included most things that are under $4 - so you could get a full sized bag of potato chips, chili, chili cheese fries, a full box of Enteman's donut holes...chocolate covered rice kispie treats on Main Street.

There are two Wolfgang Puck restaurants. I didn't go to either on the dining plan. Wolfgang Puck CAfe is a table service and the Wolfgang Puck Express is the CS. My understanding is that there are some limits there, but maybe I'me confusing it with my recollection of the DDE, which had some limits. Personally, I've always thought the EXpress was the better of the two.

It seems a little unusual to me though that you are planning on using a QS at two different resorts. Reosrts that are far from parks (relatively speaking) Most of the time our QS credits are used at our home resort and the parks - unless you're staying in the Epcot area maybe and are considering using the credits at one fo the QS resorts in that area. You'll use a considerable amount of time getting to these two resorts if they aren't you r base. It is well worth a trip to AKL for Boma, but I'm not sure I'd do it to use a QS. The MAra does have some very good choices, but you might be disappointed at if you have to spend an hour on buses to get there and back.

We are only going to be going to the park (MK) all day Monday and for the MNSSHP Tuesday, and so the rest of the time we will be eating at resorts. I thought it would be more fun to check out a couple different places than staying at the ASMo the whole time. We will have our own vehicle. Do you still think getting to these places will be a huge pain? Thanks

I am moving this to the Dining Plan board, the topic is more suited there. And they know everything!:cheer2:
