Question about Delta Airlines

Will Delta give you credit if airfare goes down after you purchase flights with them???

They will but there will be a $25 charge, so if your round trip change is more than that you will get the difference. For example, my flight went from $79 to $49 both ways, so I got a $30 total credit per person to use within one year.
This was through Song, but Delta has the same surcharge, I believe!!

It's actually $50 for Delta and the $25 is right for Song.

Of course, those fees only apply to heavily-discounted fares. For Y fares, there is no charge for changes.

The last I knew it was $100 change fee for Delta and a $25 change fee for Song. I hope they did lower it to $50 for Delta.

Whatever the fee, they will not do it automatically - you need to contact Delta or Song and request the credit.

I just had to do a change for my DH. The charge is 50.00 now. I just got credit voucher for DL because of rate going lower by 305.00 and they did not charge me 25.00 for the voucher.
Also if you change your flight the day of travel the charge is only 25.00.

Also note that Delta (and others) now allow you to change your flight WITH NO PENALTY IF you do it within 24 hours of booking. So if the fares drop right after you book your flight, you're in luck! The morning after I booked, Delta added a flight that suited my schedule better AND was cheaper!

There is also no charge if Delta/Song changes your original flights. They canceled (Song) some of their flights out of LaGuardia, changing both legs of our flights. They automatically booked us on new flights but the times were no good. I was able to call and change the times to the flight that was better and there was no charge. When they reassigned our flight, they did not reassign the seats so I had to confirm our seats all over again. Thank G-d I was able to get the same seats. There are 9 of us traveling together.
