question about DDP and waitlist

We rented points for our stay, but waitlisted the last night. It came through, however I still have 2 reservation numbers. What happens with the DDP?

Do I pay at check in for the first 8 nights, then go back to check in to pay the last night later??

How does this work?

If the waitlisted room is for the exact same room size/view, the resort will see it as one reservation. You would pay for that night along with the others when you check-in.

How does this work?

As noted, if it's the same room type and size, you'll have to get the DDP for the entire time. If it's a technically separate reservation you'd have to check in again on the change day and you might have to change rooms. OTOH, if it's not the exact same room type/size you can't combine the two reservations, you'd have to move rooms and if you get the DDP, you'd have a separate plan for each reservation.
