If I booked my Walt Disney World pre cruise stay seperatly on WDW website and cruise on DCL website would I still be able to add on the DCL bus to Port Canaveral?

Yes. You would call DCL to add cruise ground transportation. The price is $39 per person each way.

Thank you that's a good price.
Would DCL still let me add on the bus transfer even though book Disney resort seperatly on WDW website?

The transfers are a part of the Cruise reservation, so how the resort is booked does not matter. We are staying at the Dolphin but added transfers to our cruise, to be picked up at the Yacht Club as they do not service the Dolphin. That was perfectly fine with them. We will just walk over with our luggage that morning :)

Yes. I did exactly this round trip in March 2023.
When I called Disney Cruiseline to add bus transportation from Disney’s Old Key West resort to the port, they didn’t even want to know my reservation confirmation number for my resort stay.
It was perfectly seamless.

I feel like I keep getting different answers on this. I heard from DCL agents that it only goes to certain Disney resorts and that it goes to all Disney resorts. I’m so confused.

Also, if we want the DCL shuttle, when is typically earliest we can reserve a spot?

They pick up at all resorts that start with the word "Disney's" All-Stars to Grand Floridian - so not Swan and Dolphin, Bonnet Creek, or Disney Springs area hotels.

You do not reserve a time. DCL looks at how many people have booked transfers and sets a pick-up schedule. You will be notified about this by email and a letter at your resort. The pick-up will be scheduled for a time between 8:00 and 12:00, and you need to be ready to go at that time. The bus may stop at several resorts before heading to the port.

So DD wants to do a character breakfast at WDW the same day they leave for the cruise. I do t think she should chance it. Has anyone successfully done this?

That could be a tight timeline. Even with a 7:30 am character breakfast at the same resort where she’s staying, being finished with breakfast and ready for the resort bus if it happens to be the first stop might make one a bit nervous. On the other hand, you do find out the evening before what your bus pickup window happens to be, so you could still cancel a breakfast reservation without penalty, since the cancellation window now closes two hours prior to the reservation for most of the WDW restaurants. This might have the further disadvantage of making for some unhappy youngsters who were looking forward to breakfast with a favorite character.

Pre-covid, DCL transfers picked up at WDW much later and an early character breakfast was definitely possible. However, since the restart pick-up has been much earlier -- often with arrival at the port before it opens to the general public. I would not chance a character breakfast that morning even at your own resort.

DGD will just barely be 2 when they go, so not quite old enough for the disappointment, DD is another story lol. I guess o didn’t realize that it was only a 2 he cancellation now, I believe it was still 24 hr. when we were there early January.

Thank you. I forwarded her the information. I think they are staying at Beach Club and there is a character breakfast there she was looking at. I personally wouldn’t do it, but she’s a big girl and if she wants to rush and stress, that’s on her I guess. I think there will be plenty of character interactions on the ship to make up for it.

She will find out the exact time for pick up at the resort the night before. That way she can make a final decision if the breakfast is feasible.

I am just curious...is the cost $39 OW or is it for RT...and do you need to reserve the RT at the same time? Thanks!
