Our DVC rep said you couldn't add someone to the deed that wasn't on the mortgage! Maybe we should have called. When we bought (or rather my daughter bought) the interest rate was lower if it was just her name on the mortgage, so we specifically asked about it because we were splitting the cost of the loan. And we were told that I couldn't be on the deed if I wasn't on the mortgage. I'll be pissed if that was wrong because it meant no blue card for me until it is paid in full!
The rep was wrong. Although it can be personally risky to add names to the deed when not on the mortgage. They have rights to the property but no obligation to pay for it.
