I know that January is suppose to be a good time to go to WDW, but will the New Year's Eve crowds have died down by January 3rd?

Thanks for any help!

Ashley

According to the Unofficial Guide to WDW the New Year's crowds drop off significantly after January 2. For the entire length of your planned visit to WDW the crowd levels are at 3. New Year's Day is a crowd level of 10, Jan. 2 is 8 -- but that day might be lighter in 2006 than in 2005 (Monday vs. Sunday)

We were at Epcot about 6 years ago around the same time (I know it was a while ago) but we NEVER waited in a line and we were there on Saturday/Sunday. Crowds were nothing. It was cool when we were there so plan to bring/buy a sweatshirt and jacket.

A couple of years ago we arrived on January 1 and by the 3rd there was a marked decrease in the crowds. Even less by the time we left on the 6th.

Arriving Jan. 1 so I'll find out soon.

Was at WDW early Jan. a couple of years ago, second week that is, and didn't need to use fast passes.

Kind of cool, didn't get to wear shorts much.

Followup -- Jan. 1 '05, Magic Kingdom very uncrowded until a little after noon, most rides under 15 min. wait. After parade, ride waits up to 30 to 60 min.
Jan. 2-3 -- Parks not that empty, most rides 30 min. wait or less, several rides up to 60 min.
Jan. 4-7 -- Most rides under 15 min. wait but several in the 30 min. Still a few with 40 to 60 min. timeframe. Fastpass still desirable for some of the most popular shows like Little Mermaid at MGM.

We arrived Jan 2nd, 2004 which was a friday. Sat. & Sun. were very busy, at least to me since I usually go around the middle of Jan, but there were many people telling us that "this is nothing, you should have seen it last week during christmas", so I can only imagine how busy it is during the holiday. By that Monday it really quieted down, which is how I like it!! BTW, we're going this year on the 5th of Jan. I decided to wait a few days for the crowds to clear out, but since the 3rd is a monday this year, you should be fine.
