Hi everyone,

we have just booked the DDP, and we have friends who are thinking about booking at the same time as us.
They will have a 17 year old in their room, classed as a 'junior' by disney resorts.

They have a friend in the area and would like to take him out to dinner while their son hangs out by the pool.

Will they be able to use the 17 year olds ('junior') TS credit to pay for their friend (who is an adult)?

Or will it come up on the servers computer and on the recepit that one member of the party should be a junior? (under 18)

So, will the receipt say 'you have ## adult table service credits and # junior table service credits' or only 'you have ### adult table service credits left'?

Sorry about the long winded nature of this message, i just dont want them to get into trouble!!

There's no such thing as a junior credit. Just child and adult. Anyone over 9 gets an adult credit.

so their 17 year old is classed as a 'junior' at the resorts and an 'adult' on the DDP?

so their friend will be able to use their son's DDP TS credit?

And the rules of DDP say the credits are non-transferrable -- which is put in there specifically to prohibit what you're asking about...treating someone not on the Dining Plan. You have to remember that DDP is just one component of a package that also includes a room rental at a certain rate and a park ticket purchase, and therefore people who are not participating in the entire package are not eligible to use DDP. Even other guests at onsite resorts who might be paying rack rate are not eligible to be "treated."

Just tell them not to mention that the adult they are buying the meal for is not the same person who is in their room.

It is bad to add to the confusion by asking a million questions.

If their card says 3 adults and they are only using 3 adult credits they will be fine.

(because it is technically not allowed to use the credit for someone else, but if they don't ask for that clarification, no one will tell them no.)

For the purpose of booking resort rooms, adults are 18 and over.

For tickets and the dining plan there are only two categories - ages 3-9 and ages 10 and up.

There is no "junior" category for tickets and dining. A 17 year old receives DDP credits in the 10 and up category.

WDW policy is that dining plan credits are not transferable and may not be used to purchase meals for people who are not on your room reservation and part of your dining plan.
