Question about credit cards for ADRs

Hi,

My sister just booked a meal at Boma. She said after she had her confirmation number that it said she would need a credit card to hold the reservation in the fine print.

She was just worried that she didn't really have a reservation because she was not prompted to give a card number.

My guess was that maybe at certain busier times they require a credit card and then maybe not other times? They are going the first week in November.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

I would not think that Boma would require credit card at booking. I know that California Grill does this and so do some of the other more expensive restaurants. So even if you do miss or cancel your ADR they'll still get their money. Here is a list from All Ears that lists restaurants that require credit cards in advance.

I saw the same thing when I booked Yachtsman, but it didn't ask for my CC. When I booked most of my ADRs 5 months ago, there were a couple that the CM had to use my CC. She said cause it was Thanksgiving week, restaurants book up and then they have so many no shows. I can't remember which ones though.

the only ADRs i had that required credit cards were

Spirit of Aloha
Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue
Akershus <-- only to reserve it was never charged
Cinderella's Royal Table

my other 10 did not require anything
