Hoping someone can help me - :goodvibes

My cousin's friend went to a convention a few weeks ago down at Disney and bought some convention tickets. Her husband didn't use his, so she asked my cousin if she wanted to buy it. My cousin did, but now she's worried that she won't get into the parks.

The ticket is definately Brand NEW - I trust her friend. It also says it won't expire until the end of the year - she is going next month. But is Disney going to know that it's a convention ticket and ask her which group she's with? Can they even tell that? She's worried that she will get to the gates and they will ask her questions and refuse to admit her. I think she's overreacting.

I told my cousin she was worried over nothing - am I right? :confused3 Hoping someone can help her/me out?

Thanks so much!

No, Disney doesn't care about how you got a convention ticket. It is military and Florida resident ones that you need to keep an eye out for.

There should be no problem. These are usually the complimentary tickets that Disney gives out. They give them often to their cast members to share with friends and family. If it has a magnetic strip on the back they can be used as a regular ticket (and it probably is a hopper ticket also). If there is no magnetic strip, it would need to be exchanged at the guest relations window for a one day ticket. If you have any problem, you can alway take your ticket to the guest relations window and they can scan it and tell you what you got and if it is usable. I gave my son some comp. tickets we got in May and he used them last week with no problem whatsoever. Actually he used 8 different comp tickets I had accumulated over the past couple of years and they were due to expire this year.

I told her not to worry - she was just afraid she would have to pay twice. The ticket was much cheaper for her and it helped out her friend who paid for it, but didn't use it.

It does have a magnetic strip on the back and it is a park-hopper. She only has the two days and didn't want to have to waste time or money being another one. I'm glad I told her the right thing.

Thanks so much! :goodvibes

What is the difference? I went for a convention a few years ago and still had to buy my tickets on my own (went through AAA). We will be going for a convention next year again and was wondering if they were discounted or what?

Convention tickets are offered at a discount off full-gate price, but you should compare other deals available.

In March, our convention tickets were only good for the duration of our stay, which was clearly stated on the ticket.
